I didn't realise it was sudoku prevention month. I recently called a service that does similar work because I was in a really bad spot. Just talking to a stranger on the phone and telling them what is bothering you even if you don't know what it is, like you feel off. Most of those strangers know the same feelings and are there to listen. It's not worth it cutting your life short. I tell myself every time I'm in that place that tomorrow could be the best day of my life or the start of an amazing future. Holding onto that slim possibility is hard, but you have to.

This was over ten years ago but I had decided that my life was meaningless and I had nothing to live for, I just couldn't cope anymore. I told myself that if something didn't change in one year that it was my time, I set an alarm in my phone. About 3 months in I met my wife and things slowly got better for me, and when my alarm went off months later I cried like a baby. Even at that early stage in our relationship, I knew that she was the person I wanted to spend my life with, looking back now it feels alien to me that at one point I wanted to end it all, I would have missed out on the best years of my life. I still have my own struggles that I deal with, and frankly, life still sucks sometimes, but I wouldn't trade what I have now for anything. For OP and anyone reading, your life at any moment can change dramatically for the better, but you have to give yourself a chance to make it to the good times. Please be kind to yourself.

@@Dcaveman-lu6ru Thank you for sharing that bro. That's a really nice thing to hear. I've only recently considered talking about it and it's a small release of the stress, but it helps. I've always been the listener for others (when I used to be around people) and never cared about myself. I'm hopeful that I'm on the way out of that pit. The more people that talk about their pain (past or present), the more people that can be encouraged to take that step and finally feel relief.

Some good advice at the end there. I moved to the city recently, started walking the kids to/from school, spending time at the 'community backyard' with them, generally just meeting people on the street. 8 months later, I've lost 31kg (68lb), and my outlook on things is so much better. Games, videos, etc, are awesome, but taking the time to just enjoy life for the sake of it is important, too.

I subbed to this channel when it only had 700k+ subscribers. It was around the time my father had died. I remember just how much he loved anything milsim, and that drew me into this channel. I didn't really understand this milsim stuff, and my father didn't really have a chance to introduce me to it, since he and I didn't always see eye-to-eye. I regret that he died before we had a chance to have a better relationship, so I think that's why I watched your videos. This channel sparked my addiction in anything milsim: I've gotten into arma, squad, battlebits, and the metro and stalker franchise. I have over 300 hours in stalker gamma alone, and you were the one that started it for me. I think it was because of how positive you were about the games you were playing, of how much fun you made it all seem. So, seeing you finally reach 2 million subs feels very monumental to me. I don't know about others, but if it weren't for you, I don't think I would have discovered how fun milsim can be. If my father was still alive, I think we would have bonded over your videos. I'm sorry if I don't make sense, since english is my second language. But I want you to know that you weren't just a small part of my day, this channel became a big part of my life during a time when I was hurting, and is still a source of joy for me. Thank you, and you deserve every positive thing happening to you

@OperatorDrewski I can't agree with you more. Having lost my little brother earlier this year to that action which is irreversable, and having been close myself in the past, taking time to step back and ground and center yourself is one of the most important things we can do. Not enough of us take time to step back, slow down, and unwind. Life doesn't really let us, and a lot of us don't take care of ourselves because we're too focused on everyone else and the rest of our community in our lives. A serious congrats on 2M subs, and keep having fun. Perhaps someday I'll get my ideas off the ground, but until then I'll enjoy watching your shenanigans.

Thank you for your kind words, Drewski! I'm from Italy and sometimes I still think how I got to know your channel and how much fun I've had watching your videos. I've joined a little late this ride with you (at around 1.2 mln), but still had a lot of fun. Today your words struck me really hard, as I'm having a hard time at life, as you would say. I can't thank you enough for these right words at the right time. Really, congratulations on your 2 mln subscribers, you've certainly earned it. And believe me, as a person that struggles a lot with imposter's syndrome type of thoughts, there will be always be a part of luck that we cannot deprive ourselves of. It's like a game mechanic that happens sometimes while we are doing something. That's right. If you're not doing anything, you won't ever have luck. In any case even when it happens that you get lucky and get that little strange mechanic that you don't really understnd, you shouldn't blame the game for being unfair or question your achievements too much. If the developers left it there, then it's a mechanic that's supposed to be used, even though we don't really decide when or whether we want to use it. So it's life and luck, I think.

Drewski I just want to say thank you for that last little message at the end of your video. I think I speak for a lot of your viewers when I say the reason that you hit 2 million isn’t because of luck or because of your unusually high talent at games, it’s because of you as a person and your personality. This tactic is the main reason that arma has AI garrisons. It is remarkably less effective with people standing around the base keeping an eye on things and able to actually inform players that just spawned that there is a threat. This style of spawn camping really kills my immersion as its just not realistic and only really works if patrols and rear echelon troops just dont exist.
@oodsigma4482

Shouldn't the ability to respawn have more of an effect on immersion than a sniper targeting their enemy behind the lines? That's a lot more realistic than respawning ever could be.

@@oodsigma4482 walking into an opponents FOB is absolutely ridiculous. The idea that you'd be wandering around a FOB, with enemy presence nearby, without your combat load out and not alert to possible threats is also ridiculous (IE the case when you respawn). Its less so the sniper risk, more so the lack of awareness of the FOB people are spawning into. In real life reinforcements are brought in, folk are rotated through, but in a game then security of a FOB is almost non existent. It lets people get away with walking into a base that in real life would need a massive coordinated assault to even get near to. Because people have no interest in standing around guarding a base, and would rather be out fighting on zero line, despite the fact that a massive proportion of a soldiers time will be spent at a FOB or on patrol near it in order to prevent exactly the strategy of sniping shown here from being effective. The problem is that the counter to this strategy is boring tedious work, which people won't want to do. As this is a videogame and people can't be ordered to do it, this means that the counter to this strategy is not done, so instead a routine aspect of real life is ignored and spawncamping is possible. The idea that drewski could do anything even close to what he's doing in this in real life is laughable, and he even comments on how easy it is to counter it in this video.

@@keptleroymg6877 this only works if people are unaware of the fact that they are under attack, and that there aren't active patrols or people keeping watch and raising the alarm. In reality, a 3 man sniper team would find it very difficult to approach a FOB without being detected by a patrol. Likewise, after their first shot absolutely everyone would be on high alert for them. Whereas, in a game people just spawning in are completely unaware of any danger and assume safety. There are also no patrols that would be able to detect and annihilate these types of sniper teams before they could get in position. This relies on the assumption of safety of the people spawning in to the video game and the fact that the sniper team is not facing any kind of coordinated response. In game, these FOBs are just places for people to pick what weapon they want before they head to zero line with practically no protection. In reality, they are heavily guarded homes for soldiers that have as much defences as possible. Consider all the time drewski encounters a lone or two man team in this video. In real life, that would not be anything less than 8-10 folk who were specifically sent out to patrol and look for people doing what he was doing and he would have been killed before he could even get close to the FOB.

Congrats on 2m buddy. Your content & especially your sound / cadence is made for this. Not to mention the content is great. People are getting tired of the cod stuff and I believe many like myself will be pivoting to games like arma for the realism / immersion. Someone once told me arma is a milsim not a chillsim and it encapsulates it perfectly. Again congrats on the 2m buddy, well deserved.

Congratulations on your 2 million! As for how to be successful (I'm nobody to be telling anyone this, just my opinion so take it for what you will) when you said you aren't really sure what you do that works and that some of the videos you think are boring turn out to be some of the more successful ones, I think the real lesson is to do what you are passionate about and be genuine. When I watch your videos I always enjoy listening to you just laughing and having a good time, seemingly not really worrying about what we will think about what you say or do and being what seems like your genuine self. You make it interesting by being relatable and through your amazing editing and the story that you always manage to work into each video. It feels like there is a purpose. I really appreciate the effort and time you take to make these videos, and I hope that you never feel like you have to but rather that you get to.

Drewski, just wanted to say I really enjoy your videos and appreciate the time you take to put them together. Especially the longer ones such as this one. As a dad and console gamer my time and options are limited. Especially for multiplayer games and getting together with friends so your videos remind me of the "times before" playing Battlefield 2 on PC. Congrats on 2M and as always look forward to your next video.
