Shit, this outro is one of the most hauntingly beautiful things I've ever heard. I travel to a cold forest immediately.

This song with Lopez groove is unbelivable

I can't believe I used to skip this song in the past whenever I listened to MAYH. I've loved every performance of this song ever since, but hearing it performed by the classic lineup is something magical. They captured pure magic on this album and this performance - hearing the outro with and with Lopez's drums and the heightened tempo is just something that has to be felt.

I've always loved credence because of its outro, this was totally unexpected. I feel like I've stumped on a diamond here. That last little bit was amazing

If there's interest, I may re-do this video with additional sources and angles. Could be a fun way to celebrate MAYH's 25th anniversary.

@@The_Karst please do, if you can. Just came across this channel and this is a Opeth fans' wet dream. Thank you so much for this. This has made my weekend

In the video record of opeth teaching the drapery falls riffs mikael mentions that outro of credence is the closest thing they did to a jam when they played live because lopez may enter with the drums in the middle :) i think he means this one

Thanks a lot for these live videos man, I'd love to see more Opeth. Do you have any from the 90s era?
@The_Karst5 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! More to follow. I have a pretty hectic schedule, so will keep it up a bit at a time...there's a lot of great shit to share. :) Regarding the 90s, there's very little in existence. They gigged a little in '95 and heavily in '96 - there are a few vids to share here. But from 1997-2000, they played something like 5 concerts total. I don't think there are even any audio recordings for these other than the famous Milwaukee gig, but I'll take a look.

@@The_Karst Alrighty, thanks. Speaking of the Milwaukee gig, I got a rather specific question for you. On youtube already there's a full video of that gig from the front row, which is great, but on another video there's some different footage of that gig that is played at the beginning which is clearly from a different shot than that full video. It's the Drapery falls lesson part 1 that is here on youtube, with Mikael, Peter, and Mendez. It's the only place that I've seen that other footage of the Milwaukee gig, and haven't heard anyone talk about it, so I figured I'd just ask if you had it.
@The_Karst5 жыл бұрын
@@Thothings Great question. Unfortunately, the short answer is no - this is one of the few recordings I'm missing from my collection. I've searched extensively for what I call "version 2" of the Milwaukee video but have never found it. I'm convinced that the only people who have it are the folks who made that interview (and / or maybe the band). It's a shame, as both the audio and visual are clearly much better in version 2.
@Thothings5 жыл бұрын
@@The_Karst Yeah it is a shame, and it sucks that it was never released. Knowing how important that gig was for them, it would be awesome to see and hear the entirety of that footage.

This band stopped being awesome the day they fired Lopez... He's just on another level.

The band never stopped being awesome and he was never fired. He left due to health reasons and hadn’t been with the band since the recording of ghost reveries. Which is why he left + he wanted to shift focus to his old band.
