These reactions give me life, y'all. I only discovered Opeth myself about 7, maybe 8 years ago when I heard Blackwater Park, and that shit STOMPS. Anything off that you haven't heard would be great. But also I love their newest stuff, the mix of progressive metal and progressive rock they're into now. I know a lot of their old school fans never really forgave them for going away from the black metal sound and only listen to the early releases but that direction is THERE in most of their early stuff. It's obvious that's where Mikael's heart lies and his muse needed to go. Something like the title track from Sorceress is a badass example of that, or literally anything from Pale Communion. Their latest. In Cauda Venenum. is amazing too. What I'm saying is: I honestly don't think you can go wrong with Opeth. I know there's people who agree with me that love all types of music like you two do. Enjoy your journey, and know that this dude is gonna be right here to follow along with you.

I’ve seen Opeth live probably 10+ times live (though not in the last few years) and there is no such thing as a normal closing song for them.
