The best part of this pattern is listening to your voice...I can tell you have fun and love crochet! I’ve made this pattern several times and the last two I side tracked (a little) and instead of leaving shaggy ends I chain 10-15 in addition to the pattern at each end and start the pattern after the first 10-15, it ‘s really quite fun and the little ones love playing with them or older folks that are fidgety are fascinated!

Hello Anja, I needed to tell you, I started crochet less than a month ago. I’ve watched so many videos and tried to decipher crochet patterns and instructions with varying results. Hello Rose, no I don't have a pattern or full project tutorial for this item, I just knot the ends and trim them all the same length, l like it with a fringe, hope this helps, Anja x

Thank you for this tutorial! I started making an afghan following hanjan crochet using her rainbow Splash pattern but I want to put my own spin on it. It is basically doing this just in an arrow type pattern with the double crochets. Do you have any advice on how I can start making my own patterns using this technique? I'm having trouble figuring out where to put my double crochets(trying to write it out on graph paper).

I've been practicing the Apache Tears pattern. This is almost exactly the same. But instead of a treble stitch 3 rows down, yours is a double crochet 2 rows down.

Inst Sad of leaving the long ends which fray with many washings I start and end with an extra 10 chains as an adapted fringe! Much more durable especially with children dragging them around and making “tents” out of them!

When you are wanting to change from one mosaic crochet pattern to another in the same project..how many chains do you do in the beggining to make sure each separate pattern mixes well with the other and so forth? How do you figure out the chain for using say 5 separate patterns?? Thanks. Hope I explained that ok. :)

You have to use a multiple of the stitch multiple as close as possible to the 200, and i think for SC i only chain 1 .... does this make sense?

My only question is how sturdy is it? Because you are only using half of the yarn stitch to secure it, seems like a lot of strain on the yarn. Whereas when you use both loops, seems like it's more secure and stabilized. Otherwise, this is a gorgeous stitch pattern.
