@JoelB32 жыл бұрын
@@sifkoh Sure he was controversial, and made himself a bit unappealing and off-putting to groups of people. That's kind of the point though, and is the beauty in it. He believed so fiercely in what he was saying, that figuratively pushing people away actually didn't even matter. The truth was more important to him than the social recognition. I think that's admirable.
@sifkoh2 жыл бұрын
@@JoelB3 I agree with all that, I'm just saying he was never important in the business like you claimed.

@@sifkoh I can see your point. You're talking about achieving success. Maybe we just define importance very differently.. Do you know how many comedians said that Patrice was their favorite comic? Norm MacDonald to name just one. If Norm loved him, he must have made a decent impact on the industry, or at east it's stand-ups. This video (the first version of this) was the reason I went back and watched every appearance of Patrice on O&A. I had already seen all the Jim Jeffries/Louis CK episodes but Patrice had many more appearances and I only just finished them today after about 18 months of watching them off-and-on. Then it became a hobby of mine to note down movies they spoke about. There are definitely hundreds of small movie references that you missed in this video, but that probably wouldn't flow very well because they're mostly short ones. One thing that is odd to me though is that you've missed Patrice's final ever conversation on Opie and Anthony which was all about The Godfather Part I and II. He calls Otto and Jim "Movie aficionados", and as I said, it's his last ever words on the show. It just seemed really special and so fitting that he would do that - it's absolutely worthwhile having at the end of this with a note on screen that says "Patrice's final moments on O&A" or something. I started making notes on some of the bigger movie discussions that you missed and I think having William H Macy in studio talking about Fargo, Boogie Nights etc was one of them. Let me know if you do plan on making any more of these!

TweekDash This is actually the 3rd time I've updated this. The first one was only 7 hours. Then I put out the 12 hour one and now the 13 hour version. I ended up deleting the 7 hour version and I know that there has been other references that are not in this. Alot of them were too short but some of them I simply missed. There's so much Patrice movie talk to keep track of. Perhaps, I'll do a 4th update if I can find enough content to add in. So if you have specifics feel free to reply with the details. I know there was a short clip that was just a few mins long of him talking about Brandon Routh as Superman but I could not find where it was at. Really annoyed me.

I expressed the same thing - almost verbatim - at work about li'l Dakota. A co-worker thought I was twisted and I just RAN with it. I had a little "fountain candle" and multiple pictures of Miss Fanning (some with eyes blacked out or tape drawn across her mouth) adorning my cubicle. I lit the candles; clicked the fountain on (2 AA batteries required - NOT included); and began chanting over the cubicle - juuuuuuust loud enough for HIM to hear. It was quite a scene.
