The original is so extraordinarily created it's impossible to listen to a different arrangement and truly like it. I can totally see why someone might hate it, specially the vocals. But if you completely shut off all expectations and listen to it as a different song then it's actually quite nice.

the only thing that really grinds my gears here is that he seems to be performing a solid rendition of one of the greatest guitar solos of all time and it's so low in the mix you can't hear it over the chords being strummed by scott and whats his face.

I think it would have sounded a lot better if the vocals would have had a tiny bit of Reverb on it. Maybe a bit of slight delay somewhere. As it is it just sounds too dry. It also sounds like one of those guitars is slightly off tune. Not a lot just enough to bug me.
