Yeah, im going to buy one for my V-strom Dl650. dad have using one for long trips on his cbr1000f for many years now, and it seems like good quality product. Wonder if it possible to combine with a seath N fly seat cover and then airhawk ontop of that?
@JohnErikjohansson4 жыл бұрын
one thing i must say, i think the strasps could be little thicker and more robust, otherwise top notch stuffs !

I've had the Air Hawk cushion for a year now I use it on road trips on my BMW R1200GSA and I do it the same as the guy in this video review. Start out full of air and slowly let air out over a period of hours. That seems to work very well for me. Nice product.

The Air Hawk has been rated as a great cushion for many years now. That is well known. However a friend of mine who owns one said he bought the knock off version of it on Amazon. He told me it works just as good as the Air Hawk. I just ordered one and will not get it for about 10 days. Only 30 dollars. I look forward to testing it out.

We are the manufacturer of this kind of cushions. If you have order more than 400 pcs, we can do cost 10 dollars per piece.

I've tried Airhawks with little air, a lot of air, and they were just never comfortable to me. Í have tried many seat cushions, and frankly I wanted one I could just throw on the bike without having to adjust pressure, or worry about going flat. And after many seat cushions, that one for me is the Pro Pad SuprCruzr sheepskin. It's the first seat cushion I've actually been satisfied with. On my first long ride with it, I was surprised by the improvement in comfort.

Nice review. These work exactly the same as backpacking air pads. They are most comfortable with just enough air to keep you off the ground....nothing more, nothing less.

Guys, I have a lifetime of interface skin pressure reduction expereiance from the medical side and as an avid motorcycle rider. i can unequivocally say the Roho AirHawk seats are wonderful!!. The absolute key is not to inflate it much. In the video, it is way over inflated. Two or three puffs of air is all it takes. Add more air, ads higher interface pressures and decrease seat comfort. Remember the key to lowering interface pressure is envelopment into the surface, not suspended over the surface.

I appreciate your comments. You may want to watch the video again -- first 1:37 - 1:52 and then my alternative 1:55 - 2:41. You are correct in what the user instructions say, but my alternate pressures on LONG driving stints (more than a few...) have the comfort lasting much longer. In theory , the manufacturer's suggested inflation should work, but in practice (for me at least) the frequent change in pressure (every couple hours), actually is more comfortable. The pressure slowly spreads out over the day. And lets face it , comfort can only be judged by the rider, not the manual. In my video , you will notice that i don't make any specific recommendations, but rather share what has worked for me. And yes--- the Airhawk is very good, but i have owned 2 custom seats that have, again , for me, been immeasurably more comfortable than the Airhawk. My challenge with a custom seat is cost and wait times. This is a great option for those who are looking for more comfort but are on a limited budget (like me).

I used Airhawks on my R1200R and R1200RT for years. It worked--my normal Saturday rides are 300 to 350 miles and I did several 500 mile days. But I eventually got tired of the way it looked and replacing it every couple of years so got a Russell Day Long. It's fantastic but isn't waterproof and is higher (I'm inseam challenged). I did like the old Airhawk better than the newer one as in the video.

I’ve had an air hawk on my r1200rt for about 15 years. Just failed on the parkway last fall so just ordered a new one. I hope it’s as good quality.

Did 8K miles around the country on my 2016 GSA with the Airhawk R. Works great. Only issue is the initial price and the fact that the strap attachment points are complete junk. If you buy one, go to a craft store and put in 4 large grommets at the corners, then use whatever straps you prefer. Trust me the stock attachment points will rip out quickly as you move around on the bike.

I'm planning on getting an R for my 650 V-strom soon. 300 miles almost killed me the other day. If only there was a practical way to mount a solid leather tractor saddle like the vintage Harley's had, with the big coils underneath. I've always used Brooks leather saddles on my bicycles and there's nothing in the world as comfortable - after the break in period. Stay on 'em all day long. Leather forms to the rider, instead of the rider being forced to form to the saddle. Total weight dispersal is the key - no pressure points or hotspots.

Ignoring the instructions and riding with too much air in the pad is a very,very common occurrence. Like a therma rest sleeping pad, you want the minimum amount of air inside. Indeed,just enough to keep you off the original seat surface. Nevertheless, many people insist they know better, get less than good results, and then blame the seat pad.

Hi Chris,After 12 counties in eastern europe this summer,I too have been looking for (some relief) some kind off pad,,I was wandering about beads !!! Beads should be better in hot weather,For me in the UK the problem with the Airhawk is Theft,its so easy to pinch...I have to say I enjoy your vids,,,very informative if alittle monotone!!!

I bought one, but didn't care for it... I found I moved around too much. The cover would slide around on the rubber air pockets. I think it needs something btw the rubber & the cover to reduce the sliding around. I am going to try a few strips of velcro to see if that works.

I have one of these for my Versys 650. I bought it to raise me up a bit so I didn't feel cramped as much and it does that, but even with minimum air, I find to much forward roll like I'm disconnected from the bike, especially when decelerating. I'm trying a Gel Pad instead.
@94SexyStang3 жыл бұрын
damn that sucks......I was worried Air would feel disconnected......I need it for Ninja 11, probably better with Gel.

Had one of these for 9 years, used it on two bikes, a cruiser and a 2014 RT - total mileage, both bikes is around 120,000 miles. Worth every cent, had one puncture (dropped it on the hot exhaust!) Air Hawk provide a (free) repair kit - fixed it...

There is another maker out there, Musashi which appears identical, but half the price buying via Lazada.

Totally agree..I bought one twelve months ago for my R1200RS after i had an accident and injured my back. Once i was able to get back on the bike i found i could only do 15miles before getting off to stretch and take the pain away. With the Airhawk fitted i was able to do up to 50miles (commute into London -UK). No longer required but always have in the top box for touring.

I have the airhawk as well for my RT, I bought it for a trip to North Carolina, it was okay for 3-4 hours then it was ouch time and had to stop for 20 minutes. It was a diminishing returns after that. It is way better than pure stock, and way cheaper than aftermarket, just don’t understand why bike manufacturers don’t make a great comfortable seat out of the box! Will try your idea on the next long ride, BTW, great color on your RT, same as mine.
@kiki2310006 жыл бұрын
You couldnt have said it better. This is a range extender, not a perfect fix. Some say that a really comfy seat doesn't fit the aesthetics of a modern bike. But clearly you are like me, and usually choose function over form. I will eventually splurge on a Laam or Russell, until then, this will serve.

I had an Airhawk R as well for my K1300gt and got rid of it because even though it extended my range, it also made every day worse than the previous one. The solution: the Beadrider! I did a 16-day trip across America two years ago and my butt was sore at the end of each day but it was good to go the next morning.

Do you think this will help alleviate tail bone pain when riding. I can't even ride for 20 min without my tail bone feeling like I fell and landed on my tail bone.
@kiki2310005 жыл бұрын
That is a good question. I dont experience tailbone pain, but i can appreciate how painful that would be. I think determining the cause first might help you decide. If your tailbone is pressing into something hard to cause pain (perhaps the lip of the passenger seat , or the foam is collapsing onto the pan of the driver seat) , then this might help for a while. However, if it the muscle tissue around your tailbone that is being pulled or strained, then you might look for another solution. I have dealt with muscle issues with the help of a sports physiotherapist and it was worth every cent.
