AirHawk is the only way to go for long-distance ryding! You're spot-on with the air pressure, I just adjusted a well-inflated AirHawk from high down to what was comfortable to me, yeah, practically flat, or so it seemed. I prefer the R model myself, and seems small in my seat, but from your demo, my RTL seat is longer than yours but not as wide, so the pressure points you mentioned may not exist for me for that reason. The large cruiser cushion does look interesting, though. I might try one someday. Wifey can always use the castoff, ha..! Stay safe...

I agree the airhawk is the only way to go for me. It did not work as good on my RS and the ST-S but on the F3 it works great! Like you said it all depends on your seat and how wide and the shape of it is to what airhawk you need. I have used the R on the dual sport and it helos but it is not close to the right shape. Ride safe thank you for watching!

Good review. I didn't know anything about the air hawk cushions. I did finish my dragon runs last week and loved it. I ran about 500 mi/day when traveling and the ultimate floorboards really made a difference. I will need a better windshield though because of turbulence caused by trucks at 80mph. Like your Aussie friend my neck gets sore from fighting the wind.

The dragon is a ton of fun. I try to do it at least once a year. I would agree to help my spyder a new windscreen and floorboards and a new rear shock would make the miles feel better. Ride safe

If you think that traffic was bad, try driving through Atlanta. It suuuuuks. Its literally like the Indy 500. People change 3-4 lanes abruptly every 20 seconds. And they almost clip your bumper.

Hi from across the pond (UK). Fascinating, had no idea you could get these seat cushions. Look brilliant for the longer ride. I'll do a bit of research to see if they do them for all types of bikes. I go to a bikers night every Wednesday evening during the summer months here in South Devon . Its a charity night , all bikers pay £1 to park up on the sea front, there are usually over a 1000 bikes every Weds. I haven't seen any with that type of cushion. Half a dozen Spyders, they seem to be getting more and more popular over here... I certainly want one but still saving the pennies. Keep the videos coming. Safe riding. Les.

They used to make 2 different versions of that. One was plastic. The other one was rubber. I have the rubber one. I intentionally over inflate it and it absorbs bumps on the road. Makes bumps easier on the backbones but you feel separated from the bike. If they made a good spring solo seat like the ones on antique bikes I'd rather have one of those.

Hi mate as I am a new Spyder rider and had installed the ISCI handbrake due to MS when I rode it for the first time it felt like my right foot was falling off the foot peg so following Rob Brazius lead from Gimpys garage I acquired the same floorboards as him I LOVE THEM they make getting and off the bike so easy and my foot does not feel like it’s going to fall off, unfortunately I was limited to position four due to the hand brake kit, I think you can get it straight from Pierre from the Spyder shop there anyway great video as normal Dutchy’s 2 cents wort😁😁😁🍺

I use the Airhawk2 on my RT. The cover looks like your Regular Airhawk. It's not so large that it goes up the back of the seat like yours does. On my 500 mile day, it wasn't my seat that caused my distress so I guess it helps!

Great review of the Airhawk seat pad. I’m going to try to install a Conformax gel under the vinyl of my seat to soak up some bumps. BTW we have similar traffic where people switch lanes at every opportunity without regard who’s in the way. Ryde safe!

All air-filled seat pads are a gimmick, period! If the air-filled concept were viable every single seat manufacturer would be using it instead of a solid material. But they don't for good reason. These seat pads create an unstable perch and are unsettling in slow speed maneuvers. This concept is the same as the waterbed. How did that workout? It is in-fact, a cheap invention praying people's notion that air is soft so it must good. The concept is based on flawed logic with no basis in physics. Why are people spending $100's, of dollars sometimes a $1000 on custom seats when all they have speed is $100 dollars on an air cushion? Why don't we see these cushions on every road race or motocross bike? If you buy one, you might want to get a Craigslist account... your gonna need it!

OK, so just got my Airhawk pad, and I have a dumb question...the instructions are to turn the nozzle counter-clockwise, fill it with air, then turn it clockwise to close the nozzle. But by the time you turn the nozzle closed, all the air has leaked out. WTF? Who designed this, communists?
@rotorheadv83 жыл бұрын
You don’t need to inflate it to ballon pressure. Only about where the sacks are half full to start. Ride. If butt gets tired, let a touch of air out. To let air out while sitting on it, just BARELY crack the nozzle. As soon as you begin to feel your butt settle, close the valve. This works best if you are stopped. You will be surprised at how just a little pressure difference makes a difference in your ride. Do not attempt while going down the highway,
