Hi Chris, nice bike and walk through video. Currently doing a PC50 and would love to know the colour code or name for the blue paint. It looks very original. Thanks and ride safe.

Unfortunately, i had a local shop paint it, so he simply color matched what was on the bike

With the gs911 after bleeding the brakes system, are you not supposed to activate the ABS pump? And repeat this 3 times? Thanks for your expertise. Norm
@kiki23100029 күн бұрын
The manual does not have that as a required process. The ABS systems have advanced dramatically over the past 25 years, so most likely the current design doesn't require it, or artificially activating the pump presents other risks.

Hey, all great advice. But it didn’t seem clear to me. Once we install the speed bleeders on the bike, can we leave them on permanently? Or do we need to reinstall the original ones? Thanks
@kiki23100029 күн бұрын
Speed bleeders permanently replace the stock units. They tighten down in the same fashion, however they only allow flow in one direction when loosened.

The time this video has saved me is miraculous. I struggled trying to use the pick method which was a complete failure. after watching your video, especially the last two minutes saved me even more frustrated time. The allen key is the real key to the information. If I had done that, I would have been able to complete the total rekey in an hour. This is the most useful video on this process. The 7th tumbler portion was crucial as I was rekeying a top box. Kudos to the work and spreading of information !!

Thanks for the informative and very articulate way you explained the modifications; being a new 2024 Beta Evo 200 owner and 70 years old returning to trials; right now I’d like to lighten the clutch pull and be able to use one finger on lever and make using lever easier with smaller hands; although quite expensive seems to really fit the bill; is there anyway you would take a personal message to discuss it a bit further thanks, John

Enjoy your videos. Just bought a 2014 r1200 rt with 10K miles. Love riding this bike! I have taken your suggestions on crash bars, fender extender, and side stand foot enlarger. Also purchased an adapter for my GARMEN XT ( a must in my book) Now looking into replacing the Sargent seat with an day long. Only concern is that the present seat rub my inner thighs making long rides impossible So I don't know if I would have the same problem with the Daylong . Any input you could make would be helpful. Keep the great videos coming .

when you order your Daylong make them aware of this concern and they can modify it if necessary

I have a K1600 GT that came with this style box and I love it. When traveling, it is so nice just to turn the key to pop the handle, lift it off, and carry it into the room. This one also seems to be a lot more steady than the K1600 GTL factory case.

Last week here in Quebec City, a woman right urned in front of me into a parking lot when I was on my pedal bike. My elbow hit the passenger side window hard. BMW bike with full windshield-nice!

The wafers should be lightly greased prior to assembly, a white lithium grease is recommended. If you also apply a small amount of grease in each spring pocket, it makes assembly much easier and keeps the springs in place.

BMW has another top box which is refrigerated for your adult beverages. It has a solar panel on top of the box to generate the needed electricity. You should check it out.

I haven't been able to locate a Bose 20 for android. Will the ISO / Apple units work? I did try a Bose ultra wireless but the controls were constantly activated by the slightest movement of the helmet. I also haven't found a Cardo Q3, and haven't seen one with the input you show. Still searching...

I have a RDL seat on my HD Road Glide and have about 30k miles on it. I have rode 500+ miles at a time on numerous rides with no issues. I have had HD touring, Mustang and Corbin seats and the RDL seat is by far the best for me. I will never have another seat on any of my touring bikes in the future.

Very cool to hear about your experience comparing the RDL to the Mustang and Corbin. I wonder how the Road Sofa compares to the RDL... Thanks for your 2 Cents! Love it!

Hello Chris, this the first time I’ve seen one of your videos and you did a great job on talking about the RDL seat. I have a new Goldwing and like you, I’ve tried several reputable after market seats over the years on past Honda and BMW motorcycles, but no major improvement in seat time or comfort. I’ve already had one modification done to the seat and it has given me another 45 minutes without the typical hip/pelvic pains. However, my plan is to go to the RDL and have a custom seat made. The good news is current queue time is approximately 30 days. Thanks again for the great video. Safe riding.

By filing the fiber plate fingers you are altering the spacing between each finger a random amount. this will result in some fingers bearing more load on the basket than others and clutch binding more. Try running a light light 2T gear oil Motorex or Motul 10-30 or AFT (7.5) and hold the clutch in while warming motor in gear. If you still have problems put the front wheel against a tree in gear and modulate (abuse) the clutch for a minute and it will clean up .

He’s only removing the glue, not touching the pads, besides it’s so tiny it wouldn’t make any difference.

I think this modification is only for U.S. because it is so weird in Europe to heard the motorcycle is like a car. when the sound is treble as stock BMW horn, we know that it is coming from a motorcycle and we take care more of them. Here It is not working the sound like a car in a motorcycle, it is dangerous.
