Offering to pay for a wedding dress is an extremely generous gesture, but to then say you won't pay if you don't like it is pure manipulation.

I don’t know. I know moms, been one for 35 years. Mom looks like nothing would hold her down, and I bet if she works outside the home, then she has a management or supervisory position. This means she had to establish her alpha mom position in the beginning. She had to let the consultants know she was boss, so they better not try to pull anything with her daughter. When she pulled that $25,000 dress, I saw she had as many dreams for her daughter’s wedding as her daughter did.

At 2:27, I was practically jumping through the screen at that manipulative comment. Very similar to one by my mother, over 40 years ago, paraphrased: "Are we paying for your wedding here (100 miles from where I lived) or are you paying for your wedding there (where I and all my friends lived)?" I responded that the wedding would be where I lived - period.

You do know this is all just a bunch of hyped up lies, yes? There are all kinds of documenting videos and articles written all over the Internet showing that "reality" tv is anything but reality. The bridal shows are the biggest lies of them all, with the house-type shows being the tight second. In other words, don't believe what you see online; nothing is what it seems, and everything is manipulated to increase viewer angst and to increase ratings (they apparently succeed because more people get all uptight about these stupid shows than any other. Gullible viewers seem to love all the soap opera drama!)

Her wedding dress costs $8200 plus veil, head piece etc. etc. her mother will be paying $9000-$10000 that’s way too much for her poor Mother to pay
@eringemini70912 жыл бұрын
But, how do you know het Mom is poor? Some Moms & Dads knowing that someday their beautiful daughter will get married, begin saving for both the Wedding gown & the Wedding. Often, relatives like Grandparents are more than excited to foot part of the Wedding dress bill, and sometimes all of it, as it is very meaningful to them. Something that important is usually not bought on a whim, especially at Kleinfeld's😊👰♀️

Don’t do a poor mother on this one. The “poor mother” insisted on an over budget dress. The “poor mother” didn’t like any of the in budget dresses that her daughter liked. The “poor mother” picked this actual dress and also one that cost 24 k. This is all “poor mother’s” doing.

8300. Not including tax. Not including alterations. Which 12 years ago was 500 Veils are very high too. We saw them at 2000 Crowns cost hundreds. People need to understand what they really afford.

Randy: "We started out at 3,000 snd ended up at 8 thousand. We're all paying for it right?" Me: "Valid question indeed Randy. Good thinking." Mom: "She's paying for it." Me: *channeling my inner black woman* "OH HELL NO!" UH UH!" i was about ready to come through the computer and start a wedding store brawl! They should've kicked the mama out of the store right then and there! And btw narrator that is NOT a wedding dress! That's more like a fancy negligee!

The way the consultant ALWAYS ignores if the mum or the family or even the person along with the bride who's paying for the dress specifies a certain thing they'd rather wasn't in the dress and then ONLY shows dresses of that type...makes me feel someone should play reverse psychology with these wedding shops. Specify all the stuff u want only pretend u don't want it and then voila! you'll get the exact dress u want 😂😂

Moms acting surprised when the cousin says it’s her daughter’s wedding. Woman, you had your time. It’s your daughter’s wedding. You agreed to pay you should respect her choices. I don’t think she loves this gown. She looks like a cupcake. And mom got cold feet. Ridiculous 🤦🏻♀️ I’m so grateful for my mom.

I don't understand why the mother had the idea that just because she is paying for the dress that she gets to choose it. The Penina is a beautiful dress but I feel like she was manipulated into it by all the harsh comments she got while in the mermaid style.
@sakumiraagashi2 жыл бұрын
I agree. I love corset dresses so the last dress looks stunning to me, but it makes me sad that they were bashing the mermaid dresses she looked so confident in. I do think it's reasonable to encourage her to try other styles because you never know, but they gotta acknowledge that even when they say "it's not you", it's still based on their opinions. Edit to add: also this is why I wanna work hard to buy things for myself. I don't wanna be taunted with the "I'm paying so I'll only get it if I like it, your opinions don't matter."

I literally hate the dress. Not because it's ugly or that it doesn't look good on her, but because the entourage was tearing her down and made her question herself.
@catladyfromky41422 жыл бұрын
I like the dress, but I wish it had some sort of panel to make it not look so trashy. Maybe a panel with slightly different color than the outside fabric. But I like the silhouette better than the mermaid. I personally hate mermaids with the straight seam across the bottom.

This is something my mom would do. Give me a budget and then go all out, doesn't matter how much it cost as long as I'm happy. Her mom is sweet!! :) I must say though...I would never allow my mom to pay that much for a dress, she has the funds to do so, but I wouldn't. The older I get, the less I really want. :P All in all ...I'm happy for them she looked great! :)

It makes no sense that in a store with over 30k dresses, every bride who tries on 2 dresses feels they can't find anything they like.

In my opinion, you offer to pay for something because you want to help the other person achieve THEIR dream. NOT because you want to push your own tastes onto them, that's just manipulation.
