There was a guy in my Intro to philosophy class who smelled so bad I had to sit on the complete other side of the room. It was horrid! I have a good nose though and get distracted easily - I couldn’t learn around that stench. I was put into a group with him 2 times and couldn’t take it anymore 😆 I stayed after class and talked to my professor about it. He laughed SO hard when I said it all seriously “I’m sorry to be a pain, but I can’t be paired with him - he smells so bad I actually can’t even learn properly” and he just about died 🤣 but he said he wouldn’t put me with him anymore and everything was fine after that 😆 BUT at home - meh whatever - I get it, showers are annoying sometimes. In a small classroom though….NO!

i love everyone roasting betterhelp in the comments. they really aren’t a good substitute for seeing a therapist, and they may advertise themselves as a therapy program but they’re almost comically ineffective. keep it real and take care of yourself folks. edit: everyone saying that i’m privileged for having this take is making the assumption that i have access to real therapists myself. i do not. i say what i’m saying from the viewpoint of a former betterhelp user who can say it’s very ineffective. quit being judgmental. the statement has nothing to do with being privileged. it’s saying that betterhelp does not provide a good service for most use cases.

y'all in the comments need to understand that sometimes a bad therapist can set you even father back than you were before you started treatment, or just not actually help at all in which case you're just wasting your money. With a LOT of therapy programs like these the majority of the therapists are basically recent college grads with 0 experience treating people. Plus, they are overloaded with patients and not paid a lot comparatively (hence why the programs are able to be more affordable on the front end) which also lessens the amount of time and effort they can give to individual people.

The teenager being bored of sightseeing historic buildings is probably one of the most teenage complaints I’ve ever heard. I’m crippled but pushed my body to go to Dunadd Fort, caused me a lot of pain (because nerve damage is fun that way), but I’ve a keen interesting in Neolithic, Pictish and Gaelic history in my country. It was cool AF putting my foot in the coronation stone, legends claim that Dalriadan Kings would put their foot into the mark and get ceremoniously married to the land, that’s how they got crowned, and I put my foot into it (after a 30 minute break and hobbling over with my cane lmao). It was fun trying to imagine what the fort looked like as only a very small part still survives, I then made some 360s for google maps so others around the world can see Dunadd as if they were there themselves. You don’t even have to find the history particularly interesting or know that specific Pictish Kingdom, you can just enjoy the landscape, enjoy the fact that you’re a human in 2022 sitting at a fort that was used in the 600’s and try to imagine the food they ate, the clothes they wore, the weapons they used, and how different our lives are due to all the advances humanity has made. Plus as a teenager you might not find it interesting now but it could be something you develop an interest for as an adult, I know as a teen I had a somewhat interest in Gaelic history because my Grandma taught me a lot, but as an adult this turned into a love affair with the Neolthic Era, Pictish Era and Gaelic Era, so try not to write off sightseeing as a teenager, those may be cherished memories when you grow older! Plus it doesn’t hurt to at least pretend to be interested if you’re with family, your parents could find it really interesting, try not to trash on their interests.
@annan8825

i would often download tinder, get bored of it and delete my account. this apparently means i was regularly ghosting dozens of people at one, which never came back to bite me in the ass. until my brother insistently asked if i remembered this random girl (i did not). turns out she matched him, found his ig, saw his tagged pics and recognized me in a photo that wasn't even in my profile (the picture my brother was showing me was the one i matched with i guess). they talked for a few months but thankfully it didn't work out lmao

About the car thang: Agreed, I myself hate driving, I get stressed when behind the wheel easily. Especially when driving with others. I’am 30 and have never owned a car myself but I sometimes have to drive for work and no surprise, I hate it. But what I also don’t understand is why so many people have to own such huge cars, fuck the suburban SUV fr. I’am in the military, stationed in a very rural area, so most people I serve with actually live in the townships around base, which would be a 10 minute bike/bus ride, yet a majority of them show up with their suped up bro-wagons every morning. Plus most of them are reckless drivers. P.S.: I’ve never caused an accident, but I’am super afraid of doing that, that’s probably why I don’t like driving.

about the musty smell, one time I dated a barista and I pray it was just our mixed central American genetics contributing to this, but one time before bed I was hugging him and like his neck area smelled *really* good and I just followed that smell and with my eyes closed I ended up following it and putting my nose in his armpit and being embarrassed already I was like "omg you smell so fucking good, did you use a new cologne or a fancy deodorant?" and he said "no, I was literally sweating all day and forgot to put anything on" and I fucking died, that never happened before and I hope it doesn't happen again.💀💀😭

12:25 I wanna tackle this without Noel tainting my thoughts: They aren't, but there is 100% cross-over. My buddy back in high-school had a literal encyclopedic knowledge on regarding football or baseball; every current player, their position, who they replaced. We even would try to trip him up with college games and local highschool football teams, but the man was weirdly tuned in to all of it. He had never been in a sport that I recall, and he weighed about 140 lbs soaking wet. Everyone worshipped him in our grade, man was committed to being the class clown.

I am personally big into cars. I watch videos about them, read about them, wrench on them, fabricate for them, and I completely agree with the post about cars being trash. For me though, I have a big problem with cars because there are entirely too many instances of dogs*** engineering that goes into the damn things. Don't get me wrong, the modern combustion engine is an absolute marvel. It's also a huge piece of s*** though. LOL There are so many asinine engineering choices that go into the bulk of what makes a car a car. There are also many brilliant ones as well though. Otherwise, the damn things wouldn't work at all.
Opinions you can't agree with
