They both got to have their moment on stage (with Nolan winning Best Director). Can’t wait to see the Oscar speech. ;) Edit: For everyone saying it's because "she's the producer", the film actually had 3 producers: Emma Thomas, Charles Roven, and CHRISTOPHER NOLAN.

Congratulations to Oppenheimer for wining the award/golden globe for best picture as Christopher Nolan gave us a great masterpiece of a film filled with history, affects of technology, brilliant minds, types of personalities and emotions. Everyone associated with this film did a great job including Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Matt Damon, Casey Affleck and Gary Oldman etc. So well done and congratulations🔥
@pjef195610 ай бұрын
I agree. Every character was a work of art as portrayed by the actors. Robert Downey Junior, I believe, reached a new apex in his career. Cillian Murphy WAS Dr. Oppenheimer !! Emily Blunt, at times, underacted as well as Paul Newman did at the end of his career. The entire cast, I'd venture to say, reached new heights in their art. I had to watch half one evening and the rest on the next evening, it was so intense, and so full of history and of humanness that I couldn't handle the whole thing in one sitting. Each actor kept up the high pitch of the movie and of their characters and their stories that you have to take a breather about mid-movie !! One of a kind !!! To fall back onto an overused phrase: Breathtaking in scope and depth !!

Nolan has rarely been recognized for his filmmaking before, so it's extra sweet that he'll be likely sweeping everything this year for this pinnacle film.

@@Farooq_Bhai_Your opinion, anon. She was great and did the best with the little she was given for a condensed barely-written character in a script not focused on her role, or any female role. Even Chris admitted that he was scared of writing her character and Emily surprised him with how she humanized her and embraced the ugly parts of her. Along with her "you don't get to commit the sin" scene, her scene at the interrogation was gold and went viral several times for how great it is. People even cheered a bit at several showings during that scene. And she and Cillian were the only of the main actors that actually fully immersed in their characters including transforming their voices. A couple of the others sounded like themselves speaking. Her portrayal despite the writing issue was praised by many, including Meryl Streep herself.
@carpediemearth10 ай бұрын
Narratives including politics are a significant part of awards every year, and the narrative in her category is with the lady who won. Just like the narrative in the lead actress category is with the lady who won, not any of the other four nominees. In supporting actor, the narrative is with Robert Downey to sweep and get his first Oscar as it's the first time he's done something worthy in years after doing so much mindless superhero stuff. This is not Emily's year to win in her category, it's for the lady who won, but Emily already has a Golden Globe and SAG so though it's nice winning again it's not a big deal. And she'll get the Oscar nomination.
