Taraji is a good actress but she is not in great demand. You have to be in demand, before you can make demands. This time around, I will see it on the wide-screen at a theater . On TV, some time ago, I saw an all black movie musical titled Carmen. It starred the late Dorothy Dandridge and Harry Bellefonte. It came out in the mid-1950s. I know Whoppi Goldberg was in the first movie . But I haven't seen Danny Glover at any appearances promoting this current movie. He was in the original movie.

Well written !!!! Oprah has worked many years and has definitely been through a lot of things in her own life while trying to become successful, as we all have. I hope they can work things out amongst each other and not through the media. If the pay in Hollywood has not been fair for YEARS, then why does Oprah have to carry the weight of ALL pay issues that everybody has been having. Is it because now we should blame the black women? Should Oprah be obligated to pay the entire cast’s pay out of her personal bank account? We’re being presented with a “black” movie, with a “black” cast, but we can hardly focus on the achievements of the movie and cast because every news station is talking about OPRAH not paying the black cast enough money. It’s being said, she’s a billionaire, why can’t she pay us more? Has every other movie director been put in this type of predicament whilst promoting the movie, because of how much money they’ve made throughout their career, or just the black women? Can we stop bringing one another down while trying to make life better? Every time we as a people have something to be joyous about, it always comes with a negative.

It could be because of where I was in my life at the time of the first one. I learned a lot from the original Color Purple. The Color Purple Musical had great dancing, I really enjoyed that. I enjoyed Danielle and her singing. I think this is a time for Danielle to shine. This movie was for Danielle. I honestly feel she will get lots of publicity from this movie and get lots of rolls and jobs. She did great with her acting and singing. She really stood out to me more than anyone. She shined. The other actors did a great job ,but the excitement for me was from the dancing and Danielle's acting and singing. I've seen the original 20 + times, but I won't see this one again. Overall it didn't excite me. Yes there were few good scenes. The Original Color Purple made 94 Million Dollars Plus....I don't think this one will come close. Who else feels this way?
