Tina! Oprah saved me back in the 80’s from domestic abuse!! Her shows and guests gave me the courage to leave and start a new life ♥️ I have always wanted to meet Oprah to share that w her. Simon...slightly. I thought the same thing but my amateur thinking is when you do comedy or write comedy, you’re constantly looking for comedy in most any given situation (I mean this within reason...not about sick children or a traumatic situation in any given part of the world, for example) but perhaps in what we might all define as the norm of everyday life...so to be asked serious questions, basically calls for serious answers and can take more in-depth thought as opposed to an off-the-cuff comical answer. I’m only guesstimating, but maybe I’m not too far off on the thought process of Tina; however, it seemed that Oprah was slightly the struggling, uncomfortable one. Tina is seemingly a very well grounded person...tries not to take life too seriously, yet knows how to be serious. In any case, I really like her. She’s genius at what she does and would be amiss if I didn’t acknowledge how much she and Amy are magical comedian partners in crime, IMO, and can’t wait to see them host the next Golden Globes.

I loved this interview. The only thing I would add is that we need to develop more awareness about how "we treat beautiful people differently". Being beautiful can also expose the person to being bullied to a point where it affects them for years. I've seen my daughter being treated in very aggressive ways from her peer just because she is both beautiful and very intelligent. It got to a point where people would invent rumors and create groups about her on social medias. In our society we do not talk about that angle at all. People assume that because you are beautiful, you have everything and you can take any mean or sexual inappropriate behavior. Please remember that behind the beauty there is still a sensitive being.

Tina was born in 1970; that's when I first started on WW. I was 7, and they didn't have a program for children, so it was just me and a bunch of housewives (and the occasional guy) at the meetings. And WW required you to eat liver once a week. I didn't keep the weight off, but I learned to love liver.
