First time seeing this channel, very well presented and a ton of good info. I got out just before SOCOM started issuing these but seeing the clearance and adjustability (which OpsCore didnt touch on in depth with their vids) and that high NRR has got me sold. Just ordered a set - hope Gentex is smart enough to ship them together with my SF. Good stuff brother, will be subscribing for sure.

I ultimately ended up replacing the Lux Liner kit on the SF Helmet; I'm not exactly in the 'in-between' of L/XL, but close. I replaced the liner with the Ops-Core Worm-Dial fit-band in conjunction with 4D Tactical Zero G Deluxe Retrofit Pads; it's a huge game changer in comfort! I've replaced all my helmet pads (issued ACH, Ops-Core Bump, & SF) with 4D pads and will never look back.

Buddy, is it possible to install headphones via those Ops Core adapters on the LOW CUT (or mid cut at least, but not high cut) ACH? I saw a few pics where people somehow installed sordins on a mid-cut ACH using regular peltor-like adapters, but those adapters look like it shouldn't be an issue.
@MILSPECMONKEY2 жыл бұрын
Should be, the adapters mount to the same rail, just slightly different height will change how easy it is to rock ear-pro into place. Unity Tactical would be a starting point on adapter options.

Do you need the Ultra High cut on the Ops Core? Mine is just the high cut. Will the earcups work with the high cut?
@MILSPECMONKEY4 жыл бұрын
I'd guess Super High Cut is to make rail mounting functionality easier, but High cut will still work, just have to put in a little extra effort to sneak the top portion of your ear-pro up in the helmet each time.
@droneops47684 жыл бұрын
How firmly does the helmet mount hold the earcups against you head? As you move, does it hold firmly enough to maintain a good seal?

So far a good seal pressure, all the rotation capability of the mount allows the cups to keep a good contact while in more wacky body positions.

so if you have the NMFI version and you hold down the volume buttons, i can still hear some very faint noise, like the headset is still on. Do you have to hit the NFMI button too, to fully shut things down?
@Stew_Pid3 жыл бұрын
They apparently dont fully shutdown until a period of full non use. If you hold down the volume buttons it does shut them off but for a period of time it will still block loud bangs and comms work even when the headset dies. So the volume buttons really just simply turn off the enhanced hearing.

I own 2 AMP headsets. None have gel cups, making them less comfortable than Peltors with gel cups or Sordins with gel cups. You mentioned gel cups at 1:07. I am guessing you installed aftermarket cups: could you please indicate where you bought them? For the price, I would have expected gel cups from factory.
@MILSPECMONKEY4 жыл бұрын
After re-looking I see what you are saying, Thanks for pointing it out. The main cup exterior is similar to the Sordin gels, but probably just foam in there instead of dense gel. They feel different than the old school Peltors so appears I jumped too quick to assume gel style. I do think whatever the material is though it shapes around eyewear pretty well.

Ear protection is super important especially if ur on the field and things are going bad like rioting and people throwing shit at you. I like full size helms. If your headset fails u cant hear shit and you're forced to take them off. Helms with headset cut outs offer zero protection. Last thing on you mind will be some pressure point.
