This guy is a masterpiece. The movie writer did say he was suppose to be skywarp but it was an animation error. In Japan they consider cyclonus previously skywarp

@Brandon same here! I'm getting lots of characters for my collection I couldn't get a long time ago as well as the main guys!many of em are little masterpiece figures! I haven't been getting any of mp figures either. Might only get a few of my favorites one day. Yeah, seige and earthrise lines are incredible and great to get a collection going. The only problem I've been having are exclusives! Still haven't been able to get Ratchet as he's been exclusive twice! Hopefully I can get him soon!

This is definitely one of my absolute favourite figures I've ever owned. The Robot, Vehicle and Transformation are all spectacular; and the joints/articulation and posing options are well above something of a Voyager. This is a Leader Class in disguise. No pun intended.

Not just a home run, a grand slam! This is totally the best Cyclonus we ever gotten, by far! Even a Masterpiece Cyclonus would not be that much better! Very cool and cartoon accurate! Maybe there's a way to minimize the side panel problem in jet mode, just a matter of studying the area carefully. Awesome review, Paul!

They apparently did a bit before the recent theatrical re-release of the movie where when asked by a sweep, Scourge states Cyclonus was a seeker....Also, at a con a few years back, one of the writers stated that he was Skywarp and that was always the intention. Look at the toy brochures, Thundercracker & Skywarp are replaced by Scourge & Cyclonus with the Insecticons still on sale.

I bought this figure at about 30 dollars on amazon and it came yesterday and now I bought more because this is hands down the best transformer Hasbro has ever done, the engineering is on par with even some third party companies so that in both his robot and alt mode (the space jet) he looks fantastic. I have zero gripes or complaints I could not ask for a better cyclonus.

I mean the footage is obvious. It's Bombshell. and for those who don't notice, the "armada" in the background is NEVER seen again. It was labeled as an animation error. Personally for me it stands to reason that the one in front is the one to become Cyclonus. Side note: Fantastic review as always. 5:10 Yep.. I have seen this in other vids and my Cyclonus I just got has the same issue. Some kind of weird molding issue I guess, because you can force them flush but they won’t stay. It’s an “almost”… so close. But I still love this fig, I never had the original but my friends did, and I managed to get a re-issue many years ago that I still have. Overall, this guy is better… I just wish he wasn’t so… lavendar 😏

Agreed, I was convinced that Cyclonus was Skywarp, even back then. Even so, Bombshell wouldn't even make any sense, even if the Insecticon could mass shift in size, Bombshell wouldn't come close to Cyclonus's size.

Kind of funny that people even thought otherwise. The only argument for it being bombshell was his placement during the scene, in a cartoon well known for its many animation errors. Mixing up character's positions was so common, especially with the seekers lol.

TBH without a spark, a transformer is dead, and just a metal husk. So I lean towards saying that none of them is anyone. Neither Scourge, Sweeps or Cyclonus. Unicron simply used their dead bodies as materials. We are even confirmed more or less that sparks are the essence of a transformer, if so then they would refer to themselves as their previous selves. Particular BW dives deeper into it. Though sparks can give birth to more sparks it seems. As in BW lineage is established. particular with Blackarachnia being a descendant of Autobots not Decepticons. But I am going too far into it. Safe to say that both Unicron, as well as Vector sigma, have creator ability. If I am correct and none of them is a new version of himself then he has the ability to create sparks.

I 100% say that skywarp is cyclonus since why would bombshell become cyclonus when the other insecticons became sweeps and cyclonus is unbelievably loyal to galvatron much like skywarp was to megatron and bombshell was not loyal at all

who's Cyclonus? Easy, it's Skywarp. Here's why. Point one: Cyclonus is a jet, so is skywarp. How would Cyclonus be so talented at flying if he couldn't fly before his reformation? Point two: Cyconus and Skywarp are both very loyal to their respective leaders. some bombshell people may say that it was a personality change and he is cyclonus, but remember that Megatron and Galvatron have the same personality. Point 3: In the script, yes it does mention that Bombshell is Cyclonus but It has been stated before that that was a mistake in the script and Skywarp was always supposed to be Cyclonus. Over all, I suppose it depends on the piece of Transformers media we're talking about, but generally Cyclonus is, and always will be Skywarp

I believe no one became anyone in that seen except for Megatron becoming Galvatron. I say Unicron just took parts from the other dead Decepticons and upgraded them and giving them new sparks with no one caharacter becoming another.

I picked this guy up at Walmart about 5 days ago. Couldn't believe he was still there and only $29.99. I snagged him, but does anyone else think the legs look a little too squared-off? Kinda blocky, maybe? Haven't taken him outta the box yet, and see he's going for like $50-$60 on eBay now. Cyclonus is tied as my favorite Decipticon with Soundwave and his minions. I LOVE the Deluxe version, too. Have them both. Anyone else think I'm wrong about the legs?? Great review as always, sir. Thank you!

I think everybody is misunderstanding the golden disk cards. They do not show what happens in kingdom, they show what does not happen in kingdom. Case in point: one card says that the ark crash lands on earth in 1984, but as we know from the earthrise netflix series does not happen. There are also cards that mimic the 86 movie and the beast wars series

I think the problem with the pieces not tabbing in in the alt mode is a problem with all runs of the figure, because other reviewers had the same problem, or maybe its screen accurate, but I doubt that

here it is solved once for all!! you see bombshell and skywarp getting changed into two cyconus' .. but in a later shot when they fly in the ship, there is only one cyclonus and 3 sweeps. bombshell cloned himself right before unicron changed them to try and save himself. the clone got changed into a cyclonus along with skywarp. after the clone fell apart, unicron found bombshell and made him a sweep instead. thus skywarp being the only cyclonus.

I’m commenting this here because it’s the only place I think makes sense. In the Netflix series, I don’t think we’ll get a true answer to who became cyclonus. Skywarp already died in siege, and there’s no insecticons. Maybe if unicron brings skywarp back to life as cyclonus, or if bombshell is introduced and quickly turned into cyclonus. Or if unicron just brings cyclonus into existence, or if he’s an ancient transformer like from some comics. Or just completely unrelated to unicron

Just given the animation errors that abounded in G1 I really don't get too worked up about who "really" was Cyclonus before he was Cyclonus. Skywarp makes a lot more sense to me but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter; what matters is really what makes the most sense for one's head canon. EDIT: didn't mean to imply my personal interpretation is any more valid than anyone else's, sorry if my post came off that way.

@@optibotimus Well there was that unnamed Cyclonus clone we never saw again or was ever mentioned to begin with- that's a huge part of why I consider that whole sequence a bit of an animation error and completely suspect. But it's like what you said, it really doesn't matter at the end of the day. I don't think you're wrong, and honestly I kind of feel like this debate is a little pointless, and while I disagree (or at least my personal head canon doesn't match up with yours) I really think there's room for "both continuities", not that this would really change how the story of G1 unfolds in any substantive way. That said, more in direct response to your question, just look at the role Skywarp played in the Decepticons in earlier seasons- sure he wasn't too "loyal" to Megatron, but he was still in the upper echelon of Decepticons and one of Megatron's more trustworthy lieutenants. The Insecticons were notably self interested even for Decepticons, when they weren't portrayed as little more than Cybertronian beasts. That's why in my head canon I still prefer Skywarp as being who was made into Cyclonus... but like I said, it's just head canon, not actual canon. As noted, it's just a kids' cartoon with a ton of animation and other continuity errors (did the Constructicons create Megatron on Cybertron, or did he have them built on Earth? etc) that we fanboys have been banging our heads on navigating for a few decades now. I think the answer to all this is just not to take it too seriously, and enjoy the toys as you see fit.
