For concentration shouldn't you have taken moles/volume and not weight given / vol ?

It looks to me that calculation is wrong. It has c=2 g/100 mL, and value of specific rotation should be -0.315.

Actually, his calculation is correct. The concentration for calculations of specific rotation is supposed to be measured in g/mL, not g/100mL. As such, the specific rotation will be -31.5 degrees.
