personally, I like it a lot. it fits the music, sort of like some guy tapping his shoe to the sound in some old-timey club. but I do think they should have sound sliders because some sounds seem out of whack and I like control of that sorta stuff :)

For those interested; this game is now Superliminal. The mechanic of picking up and resizing objects is the same, but the game has a few other mechanics introduced in a piecemeal fashion, and has a new setting and story. Only complaint I would have is that new mechanics are introduced, but largely discarded after that (except for the very end of the game). However, it is still fun, and I would recommend it if you can afford it (or if you have Xbox Game Pass (at least on Xbox, not so sure about PC)).

@BxPanda7
@BxPanda7 8 жыл бұрын
+Clarence Le I had weird fever dreams too, but they we're generally things getting faster and faster until i would wake up because i had a massive migraine... And what i was seeing apart from one time was outlandish, worlds that aren't possible, at least not in this version of reality. For example, once i was on a staircase forming a square loop, meaning you would always go upstairs whilst also going in circles... Which is impossible except if you're looking at it from a certain perspective, and still in 3D it makes no sense, yet there i was being chased by some dude with a moose head, going faster and faster until i woke up. What the fuck.
@luxel3365

BxPanda7 Just found a thread with ppl having the same kinds of fever dream. Usually it happens as child, with the geometric image (mine is a blue-ish square), moving at antagonizing slow speed, with deafening noise, while still most of the time being aware of surroundings. I guess it's the combination of near-death (fever) insignificance feeling and visual intro-perspective confusion (kind of like when I'm stuck on a hard math geometry question and try to find an answer when sleeping only to realize it's was impossible to answer from an unreal perception. Took me a while after waking up to snap back that it's not suppose to be that complicated, though how it was i couldn't remember.) www.dreamviews.com/nightmares-recurring-dreams/29794-geometric-night-terrors-%40-fever-dreams-8.html

@w00tehpwn 8 жыл бұрын
+Adam Campbell I'm not sure this would even work well in VR. The whole mechanic is based on perspective, and how you can't tell if something is big but far away or small and close _in 2d_. In _3d_ however, you _can_ tell.

@ahlpym
@ahlpym 8 жыл бұрын
+BxPanda7 This illusion doesn't work if you have depth perception, which you don't have with objects on a normal screen, but you do have in the real world and in VR. You can tell if something's close and small or far away and big, if you're seeing it in 3D. The gameplay could probably still work, but you would very clearly see the object moving back and forth while it's changing size, so the illusion is gone. The illusion would work again if you closed one eye, but the game can't really check if you're doing that.

It's interesting, but I hope the puzzle mechanic doesn't end up feeling a little bit one-note. I don't think I could play for very long if the essential solution was always "change size of X". Maybe in a more visually creative environment I could enjoy that as a playground, but as it is I'm curious to see how a compelling game will come from this concept.

This puzzle game actually has potential. Here are some additional features i had in mind: Mirrors: So you can see in areas you normaly can't see ,combine Pictures in different corners of the room to 1 object, Stretch or Shrink objects(like those mirrors that make you look fat/tall). Lenses: Using lenses(one or mutliple) to resize objects you can't resize to a specific size because the room is too small. Shadows: Grabbing Shadows of objects as objects. Similar to grabbing pictures, but rotating objects can give you different variations of shadows for example. Combining shadows of objects might also be a funny thing.
