Yeah, some aftermarket spring options would be cool

Totally, that could be an endgame switch
@-qsprey78812 жыл бұрын
In fact, this is not innovation, the switch comes from the Chinese supplier fuhlen, which launched a cheap mouse g90evo with the exact same technology and structure as early as 2018. It only costs $20. But it was not promoted due to lack of market appeal.
@Beardedbob2 жыл бұрын
Interesting, haven’t heard of the g90evo but it does look to share the same switch. Shame they can’t get the marketing. Haven’t seen it in the uk, might take a look if it comes up. www.amazon.ca/Fuhlen-G9-G90EVO-Computer-Interface/dp/B08LYTR7JM

At least SteelSeries recognized the potential and was the only company who sourced it from them and tried to popularize it.
@-qsprey78819 ай бұрын
I think that's not the case. SteelSeries just wants to make something that looks different to avoid people saying that it is too old-fashioned and has no new ideas. Even if this thing itself has no advantages, it is unique but not excellent. It feels hard and There is no sense of feedback, and there is no delay advantage compared to ordinary light micro-switch. I just wanted to point out that even though this thing isn't great, it's not even original. @@BaghaShams

Thank you for providing the only video on the entire internet of these Prestige OM switches. They are the only unique switch in the entire industry; all the others use the same type of problematic micro switch that wears out way too fast. I believe these switches will never wear out or double click, and I'm wondering if they've been endurance tested. It's possible the magnet will weaken at some point.

I really like these. Went through 3 different light-weight ergo-shaped mice that had creaky or wobbly mouse buttons, before I found the SS Prime, which actuates beatifully. A different approach completely, and it solved my "problem" with all the other mice.
@crisnmaryfam73442 жыл бұрын
Thats pretty damn neat. Love to see more innovation like this in this market. Too many companies just copy pasting other products and slapping a new logo or new pattern of swiss cheese to call it their own.
@Beardedbob2 жыл бұрын
Agreed, we need more
@ziting57562 жыл бұрын
I noticed that if you press on the lower part of the spiral metal thingy. It actuates very quietly. But if you press from where the buttons are normally attached there is a click. I think this can be used to create a silent mouse switch.
@BaghaShams9 ай бұрын
I think you could easily dampen the click by padding at the area where the rod snaps down.

Any tips on how to make these switches quieter? preferably not by buying new switches
@randomdamian2 жыл бұрын
Some people don't get it that there is a thing called debounce, and optical switches don't need anything to prevent debounce because there is no debounce.
@Noscripts Жыл бұрын
how to disassemble it? There is a loose part in my mouse that i can hear rattling when i move the mouse around. I'm trying to open the mosue without breaking it.

Is there any way I can make these switches quieter? I am okay with replacing them with Kailh silent switches if possible or swapping the springs. Is either one of these possible in August 2023?

Wouldn’t these make the actuation more “linear” in a sense?
@bread71442 жыл бұрын
Nah if anything it would make it super 1 to 0. It's either pressed down or not and I'm pretty sure it's hard to go inbetween that or press down without actuating. I have one myself and it's a pretty good mouse, sure there's better but it's above average.
@nyphon2 жыл бұрын
At least in the sense of a keyboard switch, the linear part has nothing to do with a the spring but the leaflet, I assume theres something in the black box that actually makes the click
@vickemannen92762 жыл бұрын
@@nyphon yeah that’s kinda where I was going with this, because you don’t have the same tactile bump anymore. And since the travel distance is so low, the switch for sure can appear as a 0 to 1. But yeah I was talking about the travel being linear rather than tactile

any idea on how to angle the plastic button (shell) lower without opening the mouse? i have prime neo noir and the right button have very large pre - post travel, and also the plastic somehow have super annoying bouncing noise, when you pick it like guitar strings or kalimba, it vibrates, also when i tap my desk, the energy travels to the mouse and that annoying noise can be heard from my right button. sorry for my broken english, but here is the video of the noise, any idea what to do about this? kzbin.info/www/bejne/eWbPgKKOZdCJgqc
