First, thank you for making a product that allows the hobbyist to make body progress without a large air compressor. I used it this week and have some feedback. The epoxy primer is much more viscous than I was expecting. As a result, it doesn't fill in small blemishes. These days, high fill, sand-able primer is key to saving time. I used a power drill to stir the batch thoroughly, making it as thick as possible. Because it is viscous, you almost need a second person following behind with his own roller, to address runs or sags. It's quite easy to turn a perfectly straight panel into one that needs blocking because of new runs. Yes, I did linger and address runs as they happened, but some appear after you move on. The process makes rollers come apart -- even if the roller is high quality. I alternated between rollers provided, and ones I already own. To do an entire car, I had to use three different rollers because they disintegrated. In one case, the foam broke off completely where the inside rod ends. For a thicker material, I think a micro-slurry mix fills much better. It fills in small blemishes. It also does not eat rollers. It's very durable. The downside is that it's not easily sanded so it's harder to blend with uncoated portions of your panel. Also, I would stay away from the new "brown" micro-balloons. They clump too much, so you want the normal white ones.

I'm new at this. Can I just sand my car clear coat down with 600 grit and then apply this product, paint and clear coat it? And I'm done.

I also have a 70' Monte Carlo (Best year) and wish I had a place to do it. Wondering did you ending up spraying the paint yourself and if so, are you happy with the results? What was the original color and what color did you end up using? Jesse from the SF Bay Area, Cali.

In '72 I rolled on gray primer and white over tan top coat form "Standard Brand Paint" in Torrance, California for less than $50. It held its color until sold in '79 and got many compliments. So how come your primer cost an arm and a leg? Thanks, JD

is it bad that im going to top coat with a roller as well ?
@Senick26 күн бұрын
if you spend your time wet-sanding the primer and the top coat so you don't get fish eyes, you could get away with it. If you are going to mechanically change the surface of the paint with sand paper you can throw the paint on with your hand if you wanted to, its just not efficient.

Is there any reason that this couldn't be brushed on with a qulity brush instead of rolling it on with a roller? Because it's primer and like you said it's going to be sanded flat brush strokes shouldn't be a problem!
@eastwoodco20 сағат бұрын
If that somehow feels more advantageous to you we guess you could give it a go. Our kit actually includes some foam brushes for blotting some of those tricky areas. The roller leaves nearly 0 marks so you're not having to work against the application method when blocking, it also covers more area quicker.

Hey Guys purchased a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 w a Cummins. Dream truck. I was only going to do a cheap under carriage spray. Then I started watching your videos. As of right now I ended up do a complete renewal. Your products look amazing. So I decided to do everything in Eastwood. I’m starting with sanding entire under carriage and property undercoating to prevent rust. After I’m done with that. I have removed my truck bed and will sand to bare metal (hoping to get a contour). But it’s not in stock. Then I will do a complete paint job in Eastwood products. I need some options on what to do with painting. I already purchased. Everything I need and some for frame. Please let me know how I can contact one of you guys for your expert advice. I will post entire renewal on KZbin once done. Thanks

I have a 1990 G20 with a 2 foot tall fiberglass high top... not just the short high top but a good 2'. It is fiberglass and powdery on top and many surface cracks (maybe fibers) on the sides etc. Would I use these systems on that or is it only for metal body panels... and can I roll and/or brush (Ilike the roll ideas)

I assume I would not need the whole kit for a second car. What else would I need to buy and how much would it cost to do a second car? Thanks.
@eastwoodco23 күн бұрын
Once you buy the kit you'll most likely just need additional primer (pending how much you use on the first car). And any rollers if you use them all. You can find it all here: www.eastwood.com/eastwood-optiflow-roll-on-epoxy-primer-gallon-catalyst-kit.html www.eastwood.com/eastwood-optiflow-roll-on-2-pack-large-rollers.html www.eastwood.com/eastwood-optiflow-roll-on-2-pack-small-rollers.html

does it smell and how long? If my garage is under the house will it stink the house out? Do I need a respirator?
@pmp25593 жыл бұрын
Not sure if it stinks but the bad stuff in hardener is bad I’d recommend wearing a charcoal respirator, I believe it’s what’s recommended they’re good for only 8 hours iirc
