Hello Stu. Great fan of your work. How to set up tyflow and phoenix to interact
@n2prod4 жыл бұрын
Yeah there is the new daily build corona 6 working, and it works with foam! Maybe you can do a video showing a velocity comparation of using phoenixFD foam or tyflow, with corona. Thanks!

Oh really, that's exciting!!! Where does it say about supporting particles? I can't find it.

Hello Stu. Great fan of your work. I just bought a new PC since I've been getting into this 3D rendering thing for some months and I've been seduced by phoenix and watched your videos. Is there any way you could upload a video on how to optimise phoenix itself? My new machine should have no problems with that but my simulations take forever and the previsualisation is laggy as hell, and I wonder if there is something i am not aware of.

Hey Amadeo, cheers for that, I hope to start uploading more soon, just been really busy lately. As for speeding up sims, it's not that simple, as it pretty much only relies on single processor power, not how many cores you have. And unfortunately a better GPU won't help sim speed as they're only used for previews. My quick advice is to always work in correct scale and refer to the Phoenix manual as a guide to what the settings do, then jot down the settings so you know for next time. My sims take hours and I cannot preview them in real time. You can also see more tips here: docs.chaosgroup.com/display/PHX4MAX/Setup+and+Installation#SetupandInstallation-HardwareAdviceforFasterSimulating

@@StuLloyd Oh so your sims also take hours. That's a bit reassuring. Still, if you ever show us in a video how you set up your simulations from scratch, and how you optimise the render for video (which takes me like 15 minutes for frame for some reason), and which are your specs, that would be great for me to figure out stuff about what i'm doing wrong. In any case, thank you very much because your answer was very helpful and in depth. Keep up the good work!

@@amadeovaloria8528 No worries, I will jot it down. What are your specs btw and what are you rendering with? My PC is not the greatest i7 3.6Ghz 8 Cores, 32 Ram, GTX 1650.

@@StuLloyd Well my pc is brand new and i think it's not terrible by any means. AMD ryzen 3900X 12 cores/24 threads all cores at 4'2 GHz, 32 Ram, GTX1660. Definitely i'm doing something wrong. Thanks for answering so soon btw. I didn't notice you did until now.

@@amadeovaloria8528 Your pc would be much faster at rendering than mine if you're using a CPU renderer like Corona. However, Phoenix does not take in to account multiple cores, so it will only be as fast 1 of your 4.2GHz processors, which would still be faster than mine, but can;t really get much faster than this unless you overclock, which I don't recommend. I think for simulations, start with a low res grid and work your way up. Which renderer are you using?

what version Phoenix FD do you have?

3, I know Corona supports v4 foam though
@Kris2peng3 жыл бұрын
im trying to do the same with a simple fountain animation, but i cant seem to cache the foam in my project, its taking long time to cache, any idea what i'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance
@StuLloyd3 жыл бұрын
Caching usually takes a while if you have a lot of particles. Does it work in the end or crash? What's your particle count?

That is a great work I congratulate you but ..!! you should show your tutorial step by step from scratch instead of giving explanation why you did so & why you didnt do so your final results are wonderful but no body could guess or even track your steps will you please promise us with a brief tutorial
