Dear Alex, Thank you so much for this demonstration .. finally was able to achieve the result i.e wake/Foam/Splash, not perfect as above but good enough for me :) !! Was trying for quite a long time in Autodesk Maya but surprisingly achieved the results in 3ds Max.

amazing tutorial, just i need to mention that you can not get the same result with newer version of phonixFD and vray because there are many options added in new versions that are disabled by default that in the past were active by default. so expect different result even if you download the project from website and run simulation you will see the complete different result. you can try to change the unit but you will never reach the same with this settings.

Fantastic tutorial. Very detailed and down to the point. Was able to get it done following your instructions but starting from scratch. I wonder how phoenixfd compares to houdini fluids. Do you know?
@vrayguide2 жыл бұрын
Houdini is node based so you have a bit more control.. and it works with UE5, so Phoenix is limited to VRay 3DsMax environment

thanks for the tut. I don't know if you're able to do it, but a tut on the compositing of this stuff in a real ocean could be very helpfull. Thanks for your work !!!

Thank you for the tutorial but regarding the units, Chaosgroup and Allen mackey recommend to use meters for large scale like ocean simulations , you can see that in their large boat simulation tutorial !

very nice video. What if I want to start particles emming from exam,ple from frame 100 to 200 then do I have to do it from the phoenix time line menu disabling the ticks ?

Yes in simulation tab you can choose start / end frame…

This is really amazing, Just wants to ask a questn, Fr 3ds Max architectural work and such kind on fluid animations I wants to upgrade my graphic card so which graphic card is good, quadro p4000 or rtx 3080... ? Pls help
@vrayguide4 жыл бұрын
for that type of graphics, i'd invest in CPU, build a small render farm with lot's of CPUs..but for the future investment I'd go with RTX since everything is shifting to real-time, soon enough UE4 will be able to do that graphic level...you just have so many abilities to get amazing graphics with MEGA SCANS and unreal

You just punch in random numbers and don't explain what the values mean. This doesn't help someone who needs to extrapolate this information a set up of a different scale
@juanfelipegomezmunoz55524 жыл бұрын
I think that if he in fact starts to explain each single one of those numbers... the video gets 5 hours long. It is understandable...

@FanaticaExtremis4 жыл бұрын
This is a really sucky tutorial. You explain your work, true, but there is no logical buildup to it so a beginner can really understand. You just bombard with random settings without any explanation as to what they do and why you do them. Why the hell are you setting up ocean displacement texture before we are even shown how the fluid simulation system works at the basic level ?
@giannirun624 жыл бұрын
she is absolutely unable to teach, often skips some parts and goes too fast
