I think that Porsche made it a bit confusing with the charging compared to Tesla. As shown in your video the car is charging even though it’s not the preferred charging time. So I guessed that the timer overrides the profile, right?

My thoughts exactly. Currently struggling to get my CT4S to charge during offpeak (12-7am). My current "workaround" is to set a timer at 7am daily, but this just makes the car start charging at whatever time it thinks is necessary to reach 85% at 7am; completely ignoring my profile's 12-7am preferred charging time.

Okay, apparently I’m not the only one who’s came across this issue. I rented a taycan and really tried to get this working but I couldn’t get it figured out as the timer kept overriding the profile time. I honestly don’t understand why the max charge can’t just be in the profile setting along with the minimum. It’s much easier in my tesla, but I’m really contemplating on this car but just can’t figure out this features that should be relatively easy.

The word is that 2025 Taycan model has revised PCM controls for charging timers and profiles. If true, could you describe the changes and how to use the 2025 PCM to set up and control AC charging? Thanks.

Excellent tutorial, it helped me to understad why it didn't charge above SOC of 25%, question: can I limit the charging rate at my house via the car? I have a limitation of 8kW for home charging, is possible to adjust the maximum AC charging rate to 8kW?

Why in the General Profile is the 85% called MINIMUM if it is actually the MAXIMUM that the car is charged to?

Before I order a 2021 Taycan RWD can you list the options you suggest, please. I have a lot of questions: 1) the 19” wheels: will that extend the range and soften the ride or is there no difference if I get the 20” wheels. 2) If I order the Adaptive Air suspension will I extend the range and do you like the spring ride over the air suspension?>. 3) Is rear wheel steering something you like? 4). My dealer insists I order the ACC he tells me that updates are NOT available unless I order it with the car and the updates will be better and better as the future adds more features and I am locked out from future features without ordering the ACC with the car. Fort 5) is the On Board 150 kw/400 DC charger useless in the US and a waste of money? Same question about the Porsche Intelligent Range Manager?

Ralph great questions... as for the ride difference between the 19" and 20" wheels you wont notice much of a difference the 19" tires will last a bit longer that's all! As for the second question that is an excellent question I am not sure on this.... I would assume with Adaptive Air suspension the car may get a couple miles better as it can lower and become more aerodynamic but don't think it will make a substantial difference maybe only several miles if at all! I do like the rear wheel steering it is definitely something you can feel when taking the corners at more speed you can feel the rear come around nicely. I would recommend it if you are looking for a bit more performance and plan driving a bit more aggressively! As for the ACC I'm not sure what they are referring to as with ACC you will be able to add the feature Porsche InnoDrive through an Over-the-air (OTA) download whereas if you don't have ACC you wont be able to add this later. This is the only thing I could think they are thinking of 🤔 As more updates become available the car will update them as long as it doesn't have to do with ACC. As for the 150kW/400V DC onboard charger this currently will not do much to be honest but later down the road it will help reduce charging times by about 1/3 as their more 400V architecture being built currently. Will help future proof the car, I would add it! As for the Porsche Intelligent Range Manager (PIRM) only if you plan on going on longer trips... if not I wouldn't add it. Hope this helps! So I saw that once you selected the timer the charging screen turned green which I thought meant it’s charging. Since the preferred charging time hadn’t been reached shouldn’t it had stayed the blue color? I drove a taycan and I honestly couldn’t get this to work properly so really curious on this as it’s pretty simple on my tesla.

I wonder whether these profiles also possibly limit the charging speed with DC charging (Direct Charging). I was surprised to only get around 120kW at a 350kW Ionity charger although the car was down to 3%! Maybe this is determined by the battery temperature.

Very good question Joerg! I will be discussing this in a upcoming video but the short answer is... Yes! Interesting... I am sure the battery temp had something to do with it! How long were you driving before you arrived to the station?
