i'm interested in this guy's story haha he seems so nice and great guitar skills, but i've never seen someone with this kind of rig and this unfamiliar with it! It's pretty cool actually, maybe he kind of just decided if he's gunna do it he's gunna go big! I'm excited for Brian's journey digging in to all this amazing gear it's going to be so damn fun for him.

Hey Andrew! One question regarding how you set up your patchbay, how do you go about grounding options when normaling mic lines to pres? Shared/bussed grounds or vertically strapped ? Thanks 🙏

Going to need acoustic treatment big time.

I second this. All the great gear here is worth nothing without a properly treated space.

awesome video Andrew, would you recommend running mic lines and phantom power through a trs patchbay or would I be better off with an xlr patchbay? I don't have the budget for a tt patchbay. Thank you!

sounds like a super nice guy. You didn't include any links to brian

Do you have a video on how you tune your snare, and how you mic as well? (Maybe for full kit even 👀) there’s a lot of videos out there for “how to tune a snare” but after hearing that before and after you magic touch healed Brian’s snare sound and seeing his reaction, I need that (I too have never heard a snare sound good) - thanks, love your channels!

One comment to add about the labeling of the patchbay, the labels should be above the jacks otherwise each cable you connect would cover the label. Great video
@YetiOnGuitar2 ай бұрын
Andrew, you mentioned that the mics go to the patchbay, and are normalled to the console. Could you talk about how 48v phantom power works with a TT TRS patchbay? I always hear safety concerns about this. If you already covered this in your patchbay video, I apologize.
@itsstudiotime2 ай бұрын
Best thing to know is what your normalling settings are set to. If you send phantom power somewhere, it goes to whatever is connected to it.
@BobbyDoesMusic2 ай бұрын
Hey, not Andrew obviously, but the best practice is to also make sure Phantom power isn't on until you've got everything connected. You don't want to be unplugging or plugging things in with phantom power engaged, or you could damage equipment. But otherwise, the connection doesn't matter if it's TRS, TT, or XLR, it's all the same electrical signals passing through copper cable.

How do the Trio's perform in that space? I have a similar sized room and went with the Solo6's because I thought the Trio's would bee too much, but now I'm second guessing myself.

If you love music and recording youll probably would want to expand your studio sometime maybe
@TheRemizinho2 ай бұрын
@@krexilinmixiling Would agree but I'm fine with my room size because I don't actually record, only mix and master. But I was talking about the Focal monitors.
@krexilinmixiling2 ай бұрын
@@TheRemizinho yeah bit maybe you will get more analog equipment since you do mixing a master. Unless you already have enough

I don't get it: I have probably more recording channels than this guy, I have at least 10 more instruments hooked up and still, I use like 1/4 of the patchbay space with still everything connected to everything. Let me know if he wants to sell 2 of his Switchcraft 9625 after you cleaned up this mess 😉

The console and the interface have a combined 35, DB25 connections, there's also 3 separate XLR snakes, headphone mixers, and outboard gear.
