The Transformers Universe is making its way into Magic: the Gathering! What an exciting time as I am a huge Transformers fan! We will be looking at the leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime! He is a great leader to support your other creatures with Bolster! Hope you enjoy!

I built him leaning *heavy* on the dynamic of working with humanity. so I basically built a human tribal deck with a few autobots. Big finishers are Flying crane technique and Sigarda's summons.

Question: if I clone Optimus (front face) with Spark Double or one of the Sakashimas and they die, because they can't convert, do they return to the battlefield unconverted, or do they not return at all? Likewise, if Optimus is part of a mutate pile (as the top creature) and dies in robot form, do the other creatures in that pile return with him, or they can't, because they can't convert? EDIT: Aaaaand... I got my answers. No, cards that aren't dual-faced can't return to the battlefield with Optimus's ability, regardless of being clones or sharing a mutate pile with him. Oh, well...

When spark double and sakashima die, they go to the graveyard because they can't be flipped. At least, that's what I believe. That is some interesting rules that I didn't think about. Would definitely need a judge on that lol

@@PubStompMTG I'm building an Optimus deck and mutate was the closest thing to combining that I thought about. There's even an extra flavor in the fact that, when you blink the pile, they return separated. I was wondering if it'd work with Optimus's death trigger too. 🤔

Huge shame Blaster cannot be used in an Optimus deck, his abilities fit Optimus' fantastically. I did at least put the Secret Lair versions of Darksteel and Blightsteel in the deck since those are colorless Optimus and Megatron.

The only issue I have with the transformers cards is I can't make an auto bot deck with optimus as the commander, using all of the autobots, same with The decepticons. Makes me sad that ultra magnus and blaster gotta go in another, same with cyclonus, and soundwave.

Been working with a friend since he's making optimus. We came to a small artifact sac theme since optimus comes back. Want him on the hero side as long as possible before sacing him for value to transform him on the last end step before you. This way he's transformed and bolstering 2 on attack and not be sick then bolster 1 at the end step after a connect. Goblin welder and the likes were perfect sac outlets for value.

Hello! Starting this off, that I am brand new to mtg. I was wondering if any kind of playable commander deck could be made that includes all of the transformer cards? I have a really nice proxy for the Grimlock card and I could do the same for the older Optimus card. Thanks for any help!

Hey man! I was thinking of some commanders that could fit in all the transformers cause that could be very fun! I would agree there! A commander suggestion I thought about would be Jodah the Unifier. My reason with him is due to all of the autobots and decepticons being legendary. With Jodah the Unifier giving legends cascade, we could get more transformers out! Hope it helps!

Optimus + Luminous Broodmoth = immortal Optimus = infinite sacrifice fodder

Optimus is already immortal as double sided cards resolve face up into the gy so it would trigger his abiltiy, so when optimus dies he comes back converted.
