My mom's one of those people who talks a lot. Imagine you're tired, you've just gotton off work. you're finally going through the checkout. Then ahead of you in line in a busy store, there's my mom, talking to the cashier, just with small talk. It's very annoying. Sometimes the people behind us will say something about it, and she'll look at them like they're the rude one, but finish up talking. Then in the car complains to me about how rude that one person in line was.

Old people in grocery stores are tge worst! They dither for ages over which brand of stuff to buy, and get in other people's way, then they get to the checkout and act surprised that they have to pay for their stuff and take ages to find their wallet. Then they take ages packing their groceries, making everyone wait even longer.

Retail/store customers really are the worst. My sister works part-time at Walgreens. She tells us stories about annoying customers and the worst one is when a lady walked in literally 2 minutes before closing. My sister asked her to finish up her shopping in a polite manner. The lady just loses it and calls everybody "racist" and "Everyone is bullying her because she's black" when I'm reality they were just telling her to hurry up. Also, almost every employee there is biracial including my sister.

I regularly shop in a specific store at a time of day when it's at least pretty full. There are sometimes groups of five up to five people under 25 standing there chatting with each other or discussing what to buy and who of them should get what food item. Reminiscent of people sitting at a restaurant table who keep discussing what to order after calling the waiter in order to order from him. While almost completely ignoring the waiter. Sometimes it really looks as if those people decided to meet up inside the store to hang out/buy stuff since they're already there.

I work part time as a cashier. Some people are probably just really lonely and in pain and have nobody to talk to and that one moment of flipping out is the only thing they have going for their day. I just smile and nod. It's upsetting to see how many people didn't learn that the world doesnt revolve around them but it's their loss not ours. If they can have a meltdown over a coupon or some eggs breaking, etc. Imagine how badly things are going to be when something really awful happens in their life.

I work at a grocery store dude. I have to deal with issues like this every other day. I have dealt with so many Karen’s and customers that argue with us just to get their 50¢ off for an item that rang up wrong. The thing I hate the most are boomers that don’t know how to work self checkout but going through it anyway and literally asking us to press the buttons on the screen and scan their groceries. And ends up taking twice as long if they just went to a cashier instead.

I feel your pain. People don’t pay attention where we shop either. The staff put the carts for the online shoppers in the aisle so barely anyone can get past. Being an employee of a grocery store the only thing that I can recommend is coming in on days where it’s slow or hours when it’s slow. Thursday’s are very slow days same with Friday’s, but if those days don’t work out go to the store at any time after 7pm-8pm. Around 5pm-6pm people are coming back from work and there is a large rush of people so anytime before or after that is golden. Hope this helps anyone having trouble with grocery store boomers.
