We are already in a big crash Inflation is a catastrophe. This CPI report is a colossal failure. To bring the housing market to a halt, the FED will have to pull all the stops. The unfortunate issue is that other markets are being decimated. If you want to stay green, you have to rely on a lot of diversification. Currently up 14% and being careful. Still a better deal than leaving it in a savings or checking account yielding 0-1 percent interest.

Whichever firm you select, make sure you get your insurance from a reputable financial adviser, such as MARTHA ALONSO HARA who has dedicated her career to financial planning. Because they will assist you in escalating, navigating better, and completing the task in a safer manner.

@@MarcelPhilips I want to build a diversified portfolio based on my personal income. I am easily triggered/highly emotional, which could be detrimental to my portfolio. @@harrisonjamie794 I have saved myself from all the hassle that chaotic market causes. These days the best way to come into the market space is by reading, studying, being patient, and seeking guidance when necessary, due to my line of work I can’t handle my portfolio so I just copy the trades of my FA. I saw her on Bloomberg business news. It’s been smooth since then.

I find the 2% rule quite interesting and would like play with it. Does it change pending your Delta? If you are deep OTM, I.e. Delta of 10, how critical is it to stick to the 2%? How about Delta of 5? Stocks like AMZN, TSLA have valid spreads quite a ways OTM.

My biggest problem has been stop losses. I limit my option trades to buying calls and puts and sometimes vertical spreads. I will be interested to learn few more option strategies if such strategies would give me more winners. In stop losses, I use stop limit, and stop at market. Stop at market is like giving the broker a blank check to your trading account. Bad executions all the time and stop limit will rarely execute even if your stop loss price has been met and exceeded, yet my losses continues. Can you help show me the right stop losses to use in option trades?

How do you measure max risk on CSP for the 2% rule? In theory is the total value of the stock but we know it would not be realistic in most stocks, indices or ETFs...
@Narcissist863 жыл бұрын
For undefined risk like CSP, you can estimate a loss scenario by choosing a large price movement against you - for example, 2 or 3 standard deviation move.

Unfortunately, the only way to fully understand and relate to this video is to first have a big loss. It's very hard to "wisdom" it into someone who hasn't gone through a sharp draw down.

You keep saying that it's not the strategy, but poor risk management that causes a blow up...but isn't risk management baked into every strategy? Before I ever put on a trade, I know where I'm getting out if I'm wrong and I size my position according to that loss scenario. But I consider that part of the strategy itself, so confused by your comment. A strategy without risk mitigation is incomplete.
