Can you guys comment on the CG story a little more here? Ian mentioned a lengthened hosel to get the CG where they want it. Does that mean it is particularly heel-side on this wedge? I assume the longer hosel would also raise the CG a little of course which is a good thing... I'm currently playing the Mizuno S23 due to their more central CG, and I was encouraged to see the SM10 taking a step in that direction too. Curious why some companies continue to produce heel-side CG designs as it's hard to see a benefit there.
@ryanlocke63395 ай бұрын
A more heel-side CG, especially for higher-lofted wedges, helps close the face through impact faster than a more centered CG. This way, for fuller swings of the higher-lofted wedges, you don't get the open-face high right miss as much. But as you mentioned, for SM10, the PW went closer to the center for CG to prevent the left miss since it is generally easier to close the face down for lower lofted wedges. But there is always a balance for some. Some prefer the more centered CG for their swing, and some like to feel the face close down more.

I was thinking about replacing my four wedges, but not with Callaway, well maybe with the opus. Excited to see them come out with some new wedges, my old ones were Mack Daddy's. Great video guys, keep them coming.

Been playing with the 50 and 54 for the last week. Really great feel subjectively and produces more spin than my Vokeys. Need to get used to the extra spin on full shots.

Just picked up my opus 54 & 60 to replace my Jaws full face raw, the Opus are a huge upgrade. I’ve played Jaws for a while and the feel of the Opus is night and day better than the jaws. If you’re in the market, I would at least try these.

Im out on expensive wedges. Im not denying R&D entirely, but at my skill level (6 cap) strike is all that matters when using a wedge. I'd rather buy a cheaper option twice as often, but thats just me.

@michaelbardeleben45195 ай бұрын
Yeah they are really great looking and performing wedges…but for me do not match the Cleveland Rtx zipcore 6 tour rack in terms of aesthetics and tour grind shaping. No raw finishes and no 6 degree tour grind option in the platinum. You gonna pay $240 dollars for a wedge and not get the grind and bounce you want. Thats the only thing Callaway have let themselves down on retail launch for the recrearional golfer. There are rumors that tour spec raw opus will follow but too vague.
