Hi guys! It has been weeks since we have uploaded a video. It has been very hard balancing work with home schooling and vlogging. LOL. Here is a video all about the life of an Operating Theatre nurse here in Australia, specifically, here in Melbourne.

Hey...I am an operating department practitioner (ODP) in the UK ...ODPs work in anaesthetic, scrub and recovery in the UK. I wanted to know if it's the same in Australia and how much salary does a theatre nurse get paid?

Hi, sorry but saw I have no idea about ODP. Here in australia, we have scrub/scout, Anaesthetic and recovery nurses in the theatre. We also have perioperative nurse surgical assistant, but with PNSA you will have to study again after being an RN. When it comea to salary, it will depend on your years of experience and we have the salary grading system. Every year you will have an increment in your salary. Thanks for watching😊

Hello po. Thank you for watching. We only have one scrub nurse each case. In Australia, they do have the perioperative nurse surgical assistant but you have to enrol for further studies. The perioperarive nurse surgical assistant does the pre-operative assessment, intra-operative surgical assisting, post-operative assessment and planning. I will be doing another vlog on how to apply as a theatre nurse in Australia even if you are offshore. Of course this is after you have completed your AHPRA registration. I hope it will help you.

Nice video, nice job, but what I dislike about nursing in Australia is that in the ward they don't have healthcare assistant who bath, clean up and feed the patients, but the nurses are the ones who do it. Nothing against helping people of course , but If I wanted to do the healthcare assistant's job , I would have attended the healthcare assistant course . In Europe it's different.

Hi, thanks for watching😊 That is true, if you are a nurse working in the ward, you have to do everything, that's why I have so much respect to the nurses working in the ward. It is not an easy job, I have experienced it just for 2 weeks during my placement, I was really exhausted.

Kung nsa pilipinas ka, best way after graduation, kumuha kna agad ng experience sa hospital, better kung sa OR ka mapunta. Pro kung hindi nman e okay lang, as long as makakuha ka experience. Like I what I have said in our vlog, kahit wala ka experience sa OR mismo, pde ka makapasok sa OR. Sa ngayon, tapusin mo pagaaral mo then get a hospital experience right away tapos by the time maggraduate ka, visit AHPRA website, type mo lang da google kung pano maging registered nurse dito sa Australia. Although may vlog ako ngaun about sa pathway, d ako sure kung yun parin ang pathway after mo grumaduate. Once you are a registered nurse (either through conversion or OBA pathway, here is the link about it kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4LSaq1jpLqsgLc ), you can apply for expression of interest for permanent residency, either visa 189 (independent) or 190 (state nomination). You can read more about these visas online in the immigration website. As long as you have your license here, you can apply for your PR anytime.

like she said you can't send a letter of interest for a permanent residency visa as long as you are registered as a nurse but I've seen a indian nurse with years of experience in her home country (more than 2 years that you need to even be able to apply for OBA) being denied PR and instead being offered a temporary working visa (i think 490 or 491). getting PR is very difficult even for nurses.

Bale magbabayad ka kung kunwari yung income mo lumagpas dyan, tapos wala ka private insurance, magbabayad ka ng medicare levy na tinatawag, so better na kumuha ka private insurance kung alam mong lalagpas ka. Natry ko po noon, lumagpas ako wala ako private insurance e nagbayad ako, nung meron na po ako private insurance, nakakakuha na ko ng income tax return.

May kasungitan ng kaunti lang, pro iba parin mga naranasan ko sa UAE at pinas😂 kung galing ka pinas at uae, ung kasungitan ng ibang surgeon dito e wala lang sayo😂 majority talagang polite sila. 1st name basis pa ang tawagan sa pangalan nila, hindi nmin sila tinatawag na doctor.
