The problem is they have 20 players identical to him and can't play them all. It sounds great on paper to have all these talents but if they don't play you won't be able to sell them. If he doesn't play nobody will buy him and you're stuck with him. If he does play the other 12 players they paid 50m for don't play and they can't offload them. They're treating football like they're buying homes they can flip. Football doesn't work like that.

The only player they will likely lose money on is Mudryk, who should never have been bought for the fee he was. Felix (£45m), Sancho (£40m), Palmer (£40m), Nkuku (£50m), Jackson (£30m), Chukwuemeka (£20m), Madueke (£30), by time they are sold in at worst case 2 years, the remaining book value on them, will allow Chelsea to still make profit, which is all that matters for them in relation to maintaining PSR/FFP rules. Take Nkunku for example, who is the most expensive here, there is only £30m remaining book value on him after this season. Do you think no team in Europe offers at least that?

last year City missed Rodri, De Bruyne, n Haaland for a considerable part of the season and they coped. I can see the excuse this season will be bad luck, Arsenal fans love to be victims, absolutely pathetic. We had the chance to invest this window to close the gap in squad quality, but we refused to. Man City without Rodri look all over the place. If you look at last season they lost 1 out 50 games he started last season. Meanwhile they lost 4 out of 8 games without him. If you do the same for Carvajal. With him starting Real Madrid lost 1 out of 37 games last season. Without him starting they lost 1 out of 18 games. So in other words, Carvajals performances aren't nearly as influental as Rodri's. It's not a big deal for Real Madrid if he doesn't play for them. A ballon d'or winner should have a bigger impact on his team than that. I mean you could argue he wasn't even amongst the top 4 best player on his team last season as an individual. I would say Vinicius, Bellingham, Kroos and Valverde were all better/more important. You could even argue Lunin aswell.

I have watched faysal for last year or so (not him directly but coz he is involved in some videos of people i watch) and I disagree with almost 95 percent of everything he says. Sometimes, i have to close some videos halfway through coz of his opinions but his Rodri take is about one of like 4 takes of his that i agree with. Nah, Rodri is just actually that good. His impact on such a top tier team is absolutely unseen before. They lost 1 out of 60+ games with him last season, meanwhile they lost 4 out of 8 without him. If that doesn't show you how good he really is, I don't know what does. He isn't just doing his defensive duties and making the team tick. If you compare it to the treble season, he's was doing like three peoples jobs last season. He was doing his own job, he was doing Stones' job (who used to sit next to him in midfield in possession). He was also doing Gundogan's job. Arriving at the edge of the box, getting crucial goals/asssits. A lot of people don't know this, but Rodri actually had 27G/A last season in all competitions! As a comparison, Vinicius Junior had 37G/A as Real Madrid's primary forward last season. I honestly can't remember a defensive midfielder getting more than that in atleast the last 20 years. - Rodri was the best player in the Premier League last season. - Rodri was one of the best player at the Euros last season. - Rodri was one of the best player in the ucl last season, his team just got knocked out early. (And actually in that tie his team got knocked out, he was the best player over the two legs). Basically all of the other contenders haven't been able to perform as consistently throughout the whole season; - If you look at Bellingham; incredible in league, but poor performances in ucl second half of the season. Not to mention a pretty mediocre Euros. He had moments, but his overall play was pretty poor. - Vinicius missed the first three months of the season and actually dropped a disasterclass for Brazil. - Lautaro Martinez was great in his domestic league, great at Copa America but very poor in the ucl. - Mbappe was also great in his domestic league, but poor in ucl ko stage and disasterclass at Euros. - Maybe Wirtz you could say was consistent throughout all of it. However he didn't even play champions league.
