The Oral History Project at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza explores the life, death and legacy of President Kennedy and the broader history and culture of the 1960s, including civil rights, social activism, Vietnam and the Cold War. Close to 2,500 interviews have been recorded to date as part of this ongoing archival initiative. To learn more about the Oral History Project, visit: www.jfk.org/the-oral-history-...
We sadly lost a record number of storytellers between 2020 and 2023. At the 60th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination, we would like to honor their unique contributions to the rich tapestry of living memory being preserved and shared with future generations at The Sixth Floor Museum.

I was almost 4 y/o 60 years ago. I remember watching TV and my mom crying. She said , oh no our dear President. I still have his picture on my wall.

May the life of President Kennedy always be remembered. And may we all remember his famous words, that "we all inhabit this small planet", and give love and respect to each other. May all who read this have a great day!

JFK had a rough time in WW2, his serious health problems, lost a baby, such bad luck he got shot after all that. Also Officer Tippit had seen combat in WW2, and he survived a previous shooting whilst apprehending a suspect (who’s gun jammed) ten years earlier.

On the 60th anniversary, sorry to find out that Pierce Allman, Gary DeLaune, and Charles Murphy, iconic reporters of the assassination and its aftermath, have passed within the past year.
