.
The Destruction of Black Civilization took Chancellor Williams 16 years of research and field study to compile. The book, which was to serve as a reinterpretation of the history of the African race, was intended to be "a general rebellion against the subtle message from even the most liberal white authors and their Negro disciples: 'You belong to a race of nobodies. You have no worthwhile history to point to with pride.'"
.
The book was written at a time when many Black students, educators, and scholars were starting to piece together the connection between the way their history was taught and the way they were perceived by others and by themselves. They began to question assumptions made about their history and took it upon themselves to create a new body of historical research.
.
The book is premised on the question: If the Blacks were among the very first builders of civilization and their land the birthplace of civilization, what has happened to them that has left them, since then, at the bottom of world society? Precisely, what happened?
.
The Caucasian answer is simple and well known: The Blacks have always been at the bottom." Williams, instead, contends that many elements - nature, imperialism, and stolen legacies - have aided in the destruction of the Black civilization.
.
The Destruction of Black Civilization is revelatory and revolutionary because it offers a new approach to the research, teaching, and study of African history by shifting the main focus from the history of Arabs and Europeans in Africa to the Africans themselves. The book, thus, offers "a history of blacks that is a history of blacks".
.
"Because, only from history can we learn what our strengths were and, especially, in what particular aspect we are weak and vulnerable. Our history can then become at once the foundation and guiding light for united efforts in serious planning what we should be about now."
.

When I became conscious [aware of one's self, mentally, physically & spiritually] on February 7, 1993, this was the 1st book I read. During that time, I had developed a series of migraine headaches for 2 weeks straight. I later realized what the real problem was, I was awakening brain cells in my head that had never been used before. Similar to the scene in The Matrix 1 when Neo ask Morpheus; how come my eyes hurt?. Morpheus responded to him by saying; "You Never Used Them Before". That was 30 years ago for me, I've been reading books every since. Long live Dr. Chancellor Williams. 🔥🔥

@@leroywalker3106 I read somewhere where it said that one of the main strategy of the coloniser is to attack and erase your history. I also found that when the Europeans came to Africa, Africans already knew about the minerals under their soil. This was evidence for example by their god tipped spears. Additionally, when the Europeans reached the Americas, they found similar spears in Hawaii. This meant that Africans reached there before the Europeans. I'm glad the American people have revoked the name of the stars that were named after Columbus. How can one claim to discover a place that is already inhabited. ???

You can find him on KZbin. Dr. Gates has several other videos about the true history of Africa and several other videos. They are very educational. I first saw these educational treasures in 1996 on PBS which I raised by sons to watch avidly. Ancient Egyptians were NOT black . You cannot know a “ truth “ that has never existed. Black Africans were never native population anywhere outside of subsaharan Africa and Sahel region. These fairytales about “ black Egypt “ actually started in 1970s and never have been proven. Also the dna analysis done on mummies bodies has shown they were the same people with ancient middle eastern and Asia Minor (Anatolia) . There was no such thing as “ black Egypt “ as a civilization.

Imagine that you own a black car and someone stole it. Sometime in the future, you see a car that looks like yours . But it's a different color. The white man who stole your car pulls up beside you and calls you a worthless bum for not having a car. That's basically what happened to us.

I'm Black Indian, if you know about the Indus Valley Civilization, it was built by our people, but it was attacked by the Light skinned Indo-Europeans, same people that attacked Egypt, these people are not Nordic whites. It's crazy how this explains everything that happened to us Black Indians in Indian Subcontinent, while this book is about Egypt. Even though Black skinned Indians are oppressed beyond limits, we still have like 20 million people left, I believe it's high time we black skinned folks unite worldwide.

I had this book on my shelf for years and just now getting to read it because of all the other books on black history, I'm enjoying the book as I read it and it answers a lot of questions, for other good books to read are Hebrews to negros volume 1-4, when the world was black, black people invented everything just to name a few.

Homosapiens lived among other homo species that were not black that were here on earth way before we arrived. Which genetics have shown us we all have those ancient humans DNA including neanderthals DNA Asian have denisovans and neanderthal Europeans and black people have just neanderthal whom both roamed the earth long before you people did.. Tools have been discovered long before you arrived so I'm sure others created inventions as well. If that was the case then what happened black people are helpless and victims of society for many centuries now and have been nothing but a financial burdenon to the world who can't even catch up with modern people in today world
