No, that's not how this went down.....This woman, in all likelihood, will end up doing closer to 30 years. It's not 15 years, it's 15 to life. And, what 15 to life means exactly is that her first shot at parole comes up in 15 years. And, even though it's possible that she gets released in 15 years, it is not very likely. Historically, request for parole in these kinds of crimes gets shot down the first few times. Plus, the victim's families always show and petition the parole boards to keep the offenders locked up. Yes, she will get out eventually, but until she has done at least 30 years in prison. And, who knows, it's 15 to life and if she is not a model prisoner, she could actually end up doing life.

@00pinkman00 I'm a retired attorney. So please believe when I say, I've been in front of enough parole boards to know how these things normally shake out. No one wants to release people who have not paid their societal debts back out early. If someone is going to get out, they need to first pay their debt. Believe that, my friend.

@@00pinkman00 Yes, you are absolutely correct. The destruction of this family is something that can never be fixed. You know, there are never any guarantees with parole boards, but I can tell you that cases like this never rule in favor of the person who is in prison. This woman will be in jail for a long time. No one, especially the media, ever really explains what 15 to life means. So, I am happy that I was able to clarify. Thank you for the exchange. 🙂
