I gig all the time with this amp. Originally bought it as a practice amp, and used a Fender 65 RI Twin Reverb for gigging. One day I thought I wonder how it would work at a gig......I haven't gone back to the Twin Reverb since (about 4 years). I use in ear monitors and mic up the Orange Crush and it works and sounds fantastic. I ONLY use the clean channel and my pedal board with an overdrive and a distortion (plus the usual delay, chorus, compressor and tuner) and a Strat and Les Paul. We play about 50 cover songs at a gig and it does the job perfectly. Love my Twin Reverb but the little Orange is SO much more convenient. Couple of things to consider...1) All the nuances of tube vs solid state, hand wired circuits, or vintage this and that go straight out the window when you're on a bar stage blasting it out next to a live drum kit and a bass player 2) it's PLENTY loud and it fills up any indoor venue when you mic it thru the PA and 3) the audience doesn't care about your guitar amp - just so long as it makes sounds like what they're expecting to hear.

The h/phone jack is an emulated 12 " speaker.

Good review my friend. I got this amp about 3 months ago and really loved it. I came from a digital sound (Line 6 spider IV) and I am very surprised by the distortion that the Orange has. I would like to see more videos of this amp taking full advantage of it.

Great sounding amp. I'm trying to decide on this one or the 60 watt with the 12 inch speaker for gigging and home recording and practice. Nice PRS. I have a 91 Ten Top quilt maple with birds. Love it, but it needs new frets it's been played so much. ❤

Look into the Blackstar Debut 50W. It has a switch where you can change to 5W for lower output at home.

@adamprice3466 I contemplated getting one of those. Actually ended up going with a Blackstar HT20R MKii. Video coming shortly.

@@blazeofglory1982 Isn't that a tube amp? I love the sound and feel of them, and have owned lots of them in my 62 years, but I'm getting too old to carry them around and I hate having to maintain them. Solid state is good enough and I've never had a person say my tone was bad with solid state or even notice the difference. Take care.
@blazeofglory198211 ай бұрын
It is yeah. Believe it or not it’s lighter than my blues cube stage solid state. I’m also gonna put a neo cream back inside to make it even lighter. I just missed having a tube amp. I do love solid state though and will most likely end up getting a quilter in the future.

I am picking up a Silver Ske SE soon and looking for an amp. This sounds good but I am wondering why every other review of this amp the guitar used always has humbuckers. Is that a thing that this amp is preferred more by humbucker players rather than single coils?
@blazeofglory19826 ай бұрын
@@KaiserVonWilhelm1 Orange is definitely known for its heavier tones and is preferred by hard rock and metal players, that’s why you see a lot of people using humbuckers with it. But the clean and slightly dirty tones with single coils are not to be slept on!

I have a question I have this amp, but I want to replace a speaker with something like this. Eminence Legend 1058 10" Guitar Speaker, 75 Watts at 8 Ohms will this speaker work with my amp same ohms, the same inches higher wattage I want your opinion
@blazeofglory19827 ай бұрын
I believe so. I’m not an amp tech but I believe as long as the impedance matches, the higher wattage speaker should work fine on a lower wattage amp. Others can chime in if you agree.

Does it take pedals well on the clean channel? The 35RT and Fender 50XL are on my radar, both very nice so it seems.
@blazeofglory19824 ай бұрын
@@Michel-r6m to be honest, I didn’t love the way it took my pedals. Straight into the amp it was great though, both clean and dirty channels.
@Michel-r6m4 ай бұрын
@@blazeofglory1982Thanks for the reply. Am looking for a pedal platform 35RT, 50XL and may stretch it to a JC-22 (nice little amp). A standalone amp with good sound as pedal platform is what I am aiming for. About $500 is my limit yet the bare bone sound of the amps I mentioned is really nice. Just for home noodling 🤠

@user-jy3io4iz2p if you’re looking for something in the solid state world. I can recommend quilter. They are fabulous pedal platforms and great for home playing.
