I see the battery of the sensors is rated at three years. That surprised me because the ones in my cars area much older than three years so I'm wondering if they just have a better battery or if they don't have a battery - like transponders used for paying toll road tolls. I guess if the batteries last three years that's OK because I would be changing tires in three years or less but I sure wouldn't want to take the tires of my big cruiser if a battery went bad. I change my own tires and it's no fun. Anyway, are the batteries replaceable and how much are they? Also, I'm assuming the display is wired into the bike's wiring because it reads battery voltage. Is that correct?

Hi Bob, Our motorcycle TPMS sensors work about 20 times more than those in our autos. Every 3 seconds, each of our sensors tell the Display which tire it is, the exact Tire Pressure, the exact Tire Temperature, and what that sensor's internal battery voltage is. This comunnication happens every 3 seconds. It either tire goes above or below the presets for Pressure or Temperature - our Display immediately flashes RED and the failing tire values Blink to alert the operator to get pulled over safely so you can plan your resolution while safe beside the road. The sensors in your auto sit there lazy in your 4 tires waiting for a low-pressure condition to trigger an alert. Then and only then does one of the sensors trigger a single, yellow light on your dash. It' sup to you to investigate which tire and how severe. Some of the new cars will tell you which tire, but none of my autos do that. No Pressure. No Temperature. No Sensor Battery Voltage, and darn sure no 3 Second intervals. Did we go too far? Do we give too much? Is all this information and so often neccesssary? We think so. Our motorcycles depend on those two contact patches below us. We think there is no such thing as "too much" info about our tire's conditions. Batteries are not replaceble. The batteries are soldered in and then potted in epoxy for durability. New sensors are avsailable for $37.50 and are "paired" to your Display much like a new cell to your car's bluetooth. Our manual covers the simple 5-step process that takes just seconds after installation. Thanks for commenting, Gordon/RRR
