Orange Eye Blue Tiger Shrimp - All you need to know!

This video is about Caridina shrimp - The orange eyed blue tiger (OETB) which I keep in my nano aquarium. I will talk about how to keep and breed this shrimp with great success and I'm going to show you my shrimp tank setup. I will also explain to you how to take care of an orange eye blue tiger. I will quickly talk about ideal water parameters to make your OEBT happy. I go over how to do water changes and feed this shrimp. We will show you my filtration and plants in this nano tank. I would like to know more about you UGF box and connection with small filter. How do you connect it to each other?

I connected them with the silicone tubing for external filter. It's hard to see on the video because it's behind the moss on top of UGF. Maybe I can show you this on one of my next videos once do my shrimp room tour.

You probably lucky to have good tap water. My tap water is very hard with ph 8 and 400 tds. It’s even bad for neocaridina. Thanks 😊

I would personally keep them in Caridina parameters with no KH

strange, our tapwater = 74 microSiemens, but boiling the can looks white afterwards... There are a lot of "garbage" inside of it (I guess). Therefore I prepare soft water (with resin) and always use softwater salty bee to get 144 microSiemens. (even for neocaridina's) Looks good to them. Ph is optimal at 6.5. due to the aldercones and rotting leaves. Take care and Tnx for your info !!

John, I'm not sure if you meant parts per million (ppm) or microSiemens which are different measurements of dissolved solids. I personally use a TDS pen which measures parts per million (ppm) not microSiemens, I'm old fashioned . Some pens can measure both and convert ppm to microsiemens. I know microsiemens are more accurate but I get used to measuring in ppm. Anyway the best way to prepare the water is to buy a reverse osmosis water filter which is connected to your water main pipe and completely remove all solids (salts) out of your water delivering water with 0tds or 0 microsiemens then you mineralise it with salty bee shrimp salt.

Hello sir, my tank is 30L, how many ada soil should I use in my tank? And I am confuse, active soil will release H+, is the pH go down if I don't change water? If I don't add HCO3- how to keep the PH stable?

Hey for 30L I would use standard 1.7L ugf with soil. If you put it at the bottom 3L would work just fine. The soil will buffer the pH

I put 700ml soil in the ugf, and the pH buffer to 5.5, I think it is too low haha
