Emotions on 10000. This show has been everything for me. It hits all the topics and all the "feels" you'd expect a person to feel while incarcerated. I thank you ALL for pouring your hearts and souls into these characters and reminding me that tomorrow will be a better day! 💙

I used to be a C.O. several years ago. I was miserable working at that job. I had to write people up all the time. They watched us constantly to see if we were doing “our job”. It was awful. The food was horrible. Everything was horrible. I used to think inmates were actually nicer than my coworkers. A lot of them just wanted to get promoted and were always threatening people with a taser. I’m a Latina and there was another officer from the Middle East. We were always treated different. I remember myself telling the inmates “we are all in jail, with a different uniform”.

I just finished watching season seven... Literally 30 minutes ago and I'm still reeling, I have been out of prison for 12 years and I spent ten years in and out before that, the criminal justice system failed me and it took me a long time to get on my feet... They give you 200 dollars and a bus ticket and expect you to figure it out from there... I am so touched that there are people who are trying to help... It is important to know that even though some people have made dire mistakes in their lives that it doesn't make them a bad person... God bless the OiTNB writers, producers, and cast for bringing mine (and countless others) truth meaning. 💗THANK YOU💗 👏🏼APPLAUSE👏🏼

Roshill K I can agree to that a bit. I feel men get the short end of the stick these days. Yes, there will be a new wave of “beta males” lol, but maybe that’s a good thing to a degree. What society has forever told us we have to be has had a negative impact on all of us to a degree. Men have been given a bad rap because of this, and it’s not fair. Not all men are what they’ve been portrayed, just as all other stereotypes aren’t true. We need to support one another instead of going backward, like much of society is doing today! Sending love to all of you.

@@SuperMelrose1 That's true and most of them feel really intimidated by females in the US now. Females are losing their femininity slowly as well. Single motherhood is causing young men to be ineffective leaders. Kids need both a Male n female figure in their life that is slowly going away and we are praising single motherhood. The stats do show why 70% of single mother kids end up in juvenile or in a bad way. Cause we are losing good quality men who can teach their young how to respect and discipline them and their mother. I hope we don't cross the line too much the other way. And thank you to both of you for your lovely comments

Unfortunately, what happened to her on the show is the reality for many people, specifically black people. Sandra Bland came to mind when I watched that scene. For me. It was the first real true representative of life for transgender people. Miss Laverne Cox is one of my idles because she is so real. Through her journey I realized that life would never be easy for me as a transgender man, but that it was possible to be who I was, she is such a strong woman, and to see Sophia, and her getting out saying that she was moving on, and never going to look back is a beautiful thing. Honestly I have never seen representation of the life of someone who is transgender be more true than this was.

I'll never forget this show, it has made an impact on me so many times and made me cry like a baby but it also has made me laugh so many times. It opened my eyes on so many subjects, and I am so thankful growing up as a young women getting these lessons and giving me reasons to educate and get my own opinion on these subjects and being a women. I remember when I visited NYC on a holiday the 6 season was launched, and I watched it almost everynight till 4 in the morning straight in my hotel room. I even watched all the seasons twice (with my boyfriend) and will definetely watch this over again through my life. Such a brilliant show. Thank you so much for creating this.

Shows go so much further than just the TV screen. Another fandom I'm a part of is the Supernatural one, through which Misha Collins created an event called Gish. This year we raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to clear the fields in Laos of undetonated explosives from the Vietnam War. In the last 40+ years over 20,000 people have been killed or maimed by these bomb and nearly have of them were kids. Communities around these TV shows can do incredible things that change the world for the better when we all come together.

But thanks for thinking of me , it was very kind of you Semajj Philly. Let’s all just enjoy the final season and hope that they write another amazing show that depicts so many of us whom are never seen on the TV. I was in tears over the way immigrants were being treated knowing this is exactly what Trump has done to genuine American immigrants , when all Americans have migrated there , what does the method plane , train or walking have to do with it . They allowed so many German war criminals to live in their country but not their southern neighbours. Ahhhhhh.........

I watch the show on repeat, even if it's just on in the background. Some days I laugh and others I cry. I don't think a TV programme will ever touch my heart and soul the way Orange has. It's got one of the best casts of all time but Samira Wiley is like a ray of sunshine. That smile would light up the biggest, darkest of rooms. Amazing women and men who brought Piper's story onto our screens and into our lives and with it pulled the cover off of a screwed up justice system. Not just in America, but in so many other countries. Thank you to everyone involved in this show, love you from the bottom of my heart ♥

This show has literally changed how I think about creating stories as a creator and writer in such a BIG way! The Poussey Washington Fund is also such a wonderful thing to underline the show's legacy of narrative activism in exploring the corruption and inhumanity of our prison industrial system (and currently of its degrading hunt down of immigrants). Sure the show has fumbled a bit in its later seasons, but it will always be one of the most important and compelling shows in my book!!!

Oh this made me cry. My dad has been in and out of prison for drug selling over and over because he just had a hard time making it in this world. The system stole him from me for a really long time of my childhood and he is the only person in my family that's fully accpected me for me. This show opened my eyes to understand what he goes though and it broke my heart. He's in jail now and hopefully he'll get out in January if not he won't be out until 2022. I'll be 21 then. Not having him close to me as I grew up was hard and I started doing really stupid things and almost died a few times. This show gave me hope for a relationship with him to grow stronger and it has and to be honest he's the only reason I'm still going. I promised him I wouldn't stop trying. Thank you for 7 seasons of this. It honestly blessed my life
