Ruby A. Kate’s been in the industry for 45 years, and professional since 18 or 19 I recommend reading her bio and then looking on KZbin and Netflix for her other performances. She started in Ryan’s Hope in 1975 and has also done lots of live theatre. I also recommend reading her memoir Born With Teeth the first book she wrote 3 years ago it covers her life from birth to approximately 43 and is incredible.

Surprised more people don't know Kate Mulgrew. She's a phenomenal actress. Her role on Voyager inspires me to this day! I was 12 when they started shooting that show... She did the captain role justice.

Ruth Gisselle Crisostomo I was 14 when Voyager first started filming but didn’t get to see it until March 2018. Some of us are late to get in the band wagon with the Kate fandom because we usually see her animated and her her voice work before we see all of her roles on television, especially internationally. It means that she tends to fly under the radar a bit for us until we see her in action on screen properly and then we fall in love with her rather hard and fast, and play catch-up. I live in Australia so I have never had the honour of meeting Kate or seen her perform live theatre.

The Orange is the new black is a drama, not a Science-Fiction show and this makes the audience very different. Ask the question on a channel about the TV Series "The Expanse" and i bet, most of the people there will know who Captain Janeway is and what the actors name is.
