Kindly take note. I live in the North-Eastern part of the new South Africa. And. As for the rest of the country. Except. Presently. For the Western Cape Province. Where some services. Law-and-order. And livability still prevails. SA is a crooked. Pungent. Stolen hell hole. In the starkest imaginable contrast. In Orania. Minor children can. And are. Playing in the streets. Carelessly. Also for the parents. And anyone who allows that in the new South Africa. Must greet their children. PASSIONATELY. Beforehand.

It was purchased as an abandoned settlement which was intended for workers on the Orange River. It was a practical decision as some of the infrastructure was already supplied in the parcel of land that was purchased in order to create Orania. Buying that much land near the coast with existing infrastructure to support a community wasn't an option at the time. Some of you should do 5 mins of research before mouthing off, not that hard.

They have a security company funded by their local government and also heavily rely on volunteers. They occasionally capture thieves from neighbouring towns with help of their 24 hours surveillance cameras.
