This test was well done. The explanation that the heavier arms cause splattering and uneven distribution makes sense.

Well done 👍 they all performed amazing 🤩 I enjoyed watching all of them in action

In my experience the biggest disadvantage is the longevity (or lack thereof) of the plastic sprinkler heads. I have had to replace two of them because my dumb boxer/lab puppy chewed them to bits. I have found that the brass version is more expensive, but dog-resistant. Thanks for the comprehensive test! :)

Thank you so much for doing these tests! I bought the zinc model months ago. The only reason I didn't buy the plastic model was because I thought it would give-out/break much quicker. I will buy the plastic one next yr. for the front yard. 👍

@@TommyTester Great video, atrocious soundtrack. whatever works for you though. Would you be willing to share some of your time and knowledge regarding best sprinkler for rectangular areas with most even coverage?

Thank you for the info By far the best documented review about sprinklers. If you ever make another review with sprinklers, please include also the variable pressure.

I would say they would come closer to ideal distribution if they were on full circle. When they are reversing most of the water are deflected by the beater.

can these pulsating sprinklers be used for rectangular yards? Back yard is 40' x 30' and front yard is 36' x 18'. What type of sprinkler do you recommend?
@demirkafasutlac23434 жыл бұрын
Holy crap do they really go that fast or do you have it sped up?
@TommyTester4 жыл бұрын
Not sped up. It is lightweight so that helps it go so fast.

I wonder if, bottom line, there is a sprinkler that in all the testing tests best? I think you have 34 videos -- or at least a lot. Which now should I buy?
@TommyTester3 жыл бұрын
I use the Orbit H2O - 6 and the Orbit 58322.

@tommytester how do you get them to go that fast? Thanks
@TommyTester Жыл бұрын
The plastic one is lighter so it operates faster than the other. There is no way to adjust the speed as long as there is good pressure available.
@NelsonBigGunP200Fan5 жыл бұрын
This is why the enthusiasts in this group I'm in tell me to avoid orbit like the plague. Cheap and doesn't last. They recommend rainbird. There are a lot of old rainbird and Nelson heads that do better
@ryanb19384 жыл бұрын
Ive used the plastic one for our yard for the last 5 years. Mine sits on a plastic base and ive had no problems with it. My preference is for the plastic one and not metal.
@adderladders4 жыл бұрын
My metal sprinkler overwaters from the deflected water. I wonder if I can modify the arm somehow to deflect less. I guess the arm design and spring rates are all related.
@NelsonBigGunP200Fan6 жыл бұрын
the last one u showed looks like a blatant copy of rainbird 25PJ-DA-C. like a crappier version of it
@the30hguy375 жыл бұрын
It is a copy of it and boy is it crap. The one i have seen is already well on its way to being worn out within a year of hard use. The body of it is brass, but the arm is a cast zinc which really doesn't last long at all. The trip collars are bent up and one is already broken off. I want to replace it with an Aqua Burst X-25. Much better sprinkler for the money.

I also have one, they are really crappy. I usually avoid orbit products although I’ve used some of there rotors before and they aren’t that worst in my experience.

Unless you precisely adjust the settings on deflector shield, diffusor screw, etc. identically on all of them you can't really compare their performance. I appreciate your efforts but what you got were random results for the samples on hand that do not provide any useful information.

He states at :19 that the deflectors and diffusers are retracted. It's a solid test.

Orbit and Melnor are brands I avoid at all costs. I do have that tripod Melnor but mostly for the tripod itself. The head that came with it is yellow brass and junk in every way.
