@bigbluebuttonman11377 жыл бұрын

I saw a video where a small proximity/timed shell of some kind was fired at a window on the second floor. It predictably burst in mid air just as it passed inside the window frame. No more blowing apart the outside of the building to breach the concrete blocks, or a round passing unimpeded through a window and leaving through the first room and into another unintended room somewhere behind it. That's useful for reducing "collateral damage" deaths to someone who didn't deserve it.
@Sara-L6 жыл бұрын
In situations where there's hostages in the area, you don't want a lethal air-burst round.. It's not intended to reduce collateral damage. It's a saturation weapon to eliminate hidden enemies and to saturate the target area with shrapnel.

The Rosomak does not fire DU AP ammo like the A-10. I think it's simple APFSDS and HE.
@Andrewza17 жыл бұрын
Jonny tungsten can match the penatrstion of DU. Not to mention as a IFV what they really want is a accurate anti infantry and light vehicle round. Any case 30x173 is the same round the AMV IFV and A10 uses.

while back I came across a video of 1 in action. It was firing into a long building that had been built up and had a huge steel door on the end. The 1st round hit the door and just took it through the building and then next rounds starting going in and exploding. I thought OH MY GOD that thing is firing from 1 end through the other. Not a lot is going to escape that.

you aim at the ground where you want the round to explode. It automatically aims the gun and sets the fuse to airburst over that part of the ground.

I had no idea that the Bush Master gun had so many different rounds. The precision was incredibly accurate. I am assuming the gun has a pre- program. Combat effective spread for maximum damage. What if that trench was 300 yards long could that gun deliver the rounds on target for that big of spread or would you 2 or 3 Armor Personal carrier? One last question do tanks have AB Rounds as well? Or not. That was a extremely interesting video.

For some reason those are ukrainians. And not only here. Ukrainians lurk around all USA military videos on youtube and spampost comments(in Russian langage, cuz apparently they can't speak their own language) about how they hate Russians and how they dream about those advanced weapons to be someday gifted to ukraine for free, cuz they have no money and their revolutionary country is brokeass under civil war and raging corruption. Hate against Russians is what is left to them in their miserable life. I almost pity them.... Naaah, not really.

For the ones that burst in open air, how do they control the range at which it bursts, and is it adjustable per-round in real time? Or are they proximity triggers that are sensing something down range that they didn't describe in the video?
@oobiegoobie9404 жыл бұрын
They have a rotation counter.
@johnd93573 жыл бұрын
@@oobiegoobie940 nope. It isn’t done by rotation. The muzzle end of the barrel has a set of magnetic coils. The operator tells the gun where it wants the rounds to explode. The targeting system calculates time of flight and as each round leaves the barrel, the coils at the muzzle are programming each round with time of flight instructions. It can be adjusted on the fly.
