Headcanon: Grisha manipulated Az-Laar and got him to quit. Best case scenario, the favorite is killed outside of the tournament and Grisha automatically moves to the final. Worst case scenario, the favorite returns with a messed-up head, which may have been what gave Grisha more of a chance here.

Even with the best situation possible… archers just stand around and disappoint in the pits. If I made any balance changes, they’d at least start with one bolt “in the chamber” so to speak.

Either way, all the gangs/pets have such nerfed damage in the pits that they really only serve as a distraction 99% of the time. I'd rather they just weren't included. Probably my biggest gripe with the pits!
