Cheers mate! You don't have to worry about the orca, it's the people you have to watch out for 😂💙🐬

Amazing! Are these Icelandic Orcas?
@findingfinsuk2 жыл бұрын
Hey, Thanks for watching! The orca in this video are part of the Northern Isles Community seen off mainland Scotland, Shetland and Orkney. John Coe and Aquarius who have been seen off Wales previously are part of the West Coast Community pod who are regularly seen off the west coast of Scotland and Ireland 💙🐬

@@findingfinsuk How awesome! I really need to get my ass in gear and see them on their turf. I once saw captive Orcas, many years ago and after a lot of crying swore I’d never, ever do it again. Next time it’s on their terms… Sorry for the questions, but are these fish eaters, or mammal eaters? Many thanks!
@findingfinsuk2 жыл бұрын
@@pauleyd80 The 27s pod (in this video) are mammal eaters and are often seen hunting close in on seals and porpoises. The West Coast Community are known to have fed on mammals such as Minke whales and other cetaceans, more so when they were seen as a full pod. Since 2016 the only two members to have been seen are the big bulls John Coe and Aquarius, when we have seen them they looked to have been foraging and feeding on fish. Perhaps their diet has changed over the years or maybe they have always fed on a mixed diet as both? No one really knows for sure but they have been observed feeding on both over a long period of time! Over the past few years we have seen them pass an area that had seals, minke whales and porpoises present and they didn't show any interest in them! 🐬💙

Great footage of the Risso's - we were there on 4th and only saw 1 Risso's and it didn't surface much unfortunately. Do you send your photos to Seawatch for their photo id catalog? It would be interesting to see what sort of information they have on these animals who visit the area regularly 🤔 I'll look out for Patch on our next visit 👍

Ah thank you!! We definitely recognise lots of individuals that we see each year! Patch is certainly our favourite though! 😍 We have sent photos previously, really hope you get to see some on your next visit! Been lots of breaching over the last couple of days! 💙🐬🏴
