Amazing video ❤. I have just come back from NZ and missed Orca in Kaikoura by three days 😢. Still never seen one. I may have to try my luck in Shetland

@williamgraham2477 the videos of them NZ orca looked incredible! Mainland Scotland is just as good too, especially around the end of May time 😊 Thanks for watching! 💙

Thanks so much! That's exciting! Yeah we've been to Chanonry point, we have seen the dolphins there but never have any luck with when they come in super close 😂 We've had some amazing encounters with Bottlenose dolphins off the west coast of Wales though 💙🐬

EXCELLENT video, THANK You (whoever you are) for sharing your experience. Can you clarify for me Where this is, it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! A lot of this video was taken on Shetland (Scotland) and a couple of clips of John Coe and Aquarius were filmed on the Isle of Skye 💙

Hi I’m Lorraine. This video is insane!! It actually brought tears to my eyes. I’m heading up to Shetland in September. Where is the best area to see the orcas this close? I’ve never been before so not sure where’s best. Will be staying in Lerwick. Thank you. 😊
@findingfinsuk10 ай бұрын
Hey! Thanks so much for watching. Lerwick is a good spot as it's fairly central, the orca can and do show up anywhere including Lerwick Harbour! You're never too far away from the sea on Shetland so spend as much time looking out to sea as possible. We hope you have some sightings! 💙
@Velvetroads110 ай бұрын
@@findingfinsukthank you for replying. I appreciate that. I will have my car with me so will be travelling around, and won’t be restricted to Lerwick. Will only be there 3 days so really want to see them. I’m not familiar with the islands, would be good to know where to start.

@lorrainestewart3122 some good places to look out are Sumburgh Head, St Ninians Isle, Eshaness Lighthouse, all along the Yell sound. You have to have a bit of luck with timing it when the orca are in the area as they're not always around. Hope this helps!
@Velvetroads110 ай бұрын
@@findingfinsukthank you for your advice. I was told September is better than August to see them. What do you think?
@findingfinsuk10 ай бұрын
@lorrainestewart3122 from our experience we've found July, October and November the best but it could honestly change every year. The more time you give yourself, the better chance you have of seeing them

It would be amazing if the oreo's of the sea migrate to the Netherlands as well. ❤ if not, I need to go and travel to see them.
@findingfinsuk10 ай бұрын
There was one stranded off the Netherlands sometime last year (think that's when it was) which unfortunately didn't survive. Hopefully you get a sighting, there's nothing better! 💙

@@findingfinsuk That is sad. It is never a good sign if there is an orca without a pod. When I was much younger I went to Sea World. Never aware of what was going on at that age. Once I saw the documentary and did my own research, I was devastated and my heart broke. I wish I never went there. Now I just wish to see them free, with their pod. Subscribed to your channel! 🐬
