yip, got both boards and that's exactly it - mind expander for ultimate float (great for deepest days), orca more nimble, stable and versatile. only had 1 day on the mind expander so far tho, in waist deep pow. was super easy. what sizes of boards you riding in this vid?

Love the Orca, just got a 2021 150cm. So many times I would plunge under deeper parts of the snow and think I was about to get stuck, then that big nose blasts back up to the surface like an Orca haha! Also I agree, it is very nimble for the width ,great for slashes and you can do amazing nose butters with it. I can really lean way out over the nose and it never slips out from under me.

@@maltenilsson6975 I weigh around 145-150,size 10.5 boots. I almost went with the 153 but ended up going for the 150 and I'm glad I did. Like they say these ride bigger , its still wide enough to really lay over into carves etc and have decent float in powder.

​@@ianmichael9224 Interesting, I'm about to pull the trigger on one, I'm 155lbs, size 10 boots, Lib Tech's calculator is recommending me 153 but I guess I'm a bit between both. Planning on riding it almost exclusively in Whistler, so I guess having it on the longer end will be fine to get more stability? I have too much board currently (158 non volume shifted) and it's annoying in trees, I just don't want to have the same feeling if I get the 153 instead of 150.

@Alex C if you're gonna be riding exclusively in Whistler ,I don't think the 153 would hurt if anything it would have more float and the waist width is only a tiny bit bigger.

Would love to see Kevin on the original Mind Expander and see what he thinks compared to the Ultra ME and the Orca. I know Andreas has one, so the swap would be easy! I'm riding the NOW Drives on the original ME and that combo is legit.

Def agree, I love how crazy nimble my Orca 147 is in the trees. Tight turns are almost effortless on that thing and even sized down it still has good float even with fluffy CO pow.

@@oriarad9118 160-165 5'6" and I think size 8 boots. I've got tiny feet. Got my first spectacular pow day on it yesterday and it was handling black trees, deep wind drifts and some drops like an absolute champ.

@@oriarad9118 for drops and side hits into powder the stability is fine. For drops and side hits on groomers, proper jumps and just generally bombing runs it definitely lacks. I have a larger, stiff twin profile for that stuff though. Maybe oversized a bit the Orca would be closer to a quiver killer but I'm fine with having more focused weapons for different jobs. I also just like having that twin for switch riding (although the Orca does ride switch alright when needed, even in the pow).

It does also lack glide on very low angle powder. Not to say the base is slow but it's not going to be like a fast base rocker swallowtail on flats.
