School orchestra was pretty accurate! Just have to add a few more clarinet squeaks and a random drum beat in the middle but other than that spot on 😂

The "modern music" part is sooooo true! It's a nice sum-up of contemporary music. Luckily not all contemporary music is like that! Generally I'd say that I like contemporary music, but there are some pieces that I don't like. My piano teacher has a grudge against Stockhausen and she says that his music is nonsensical.

There is some "Contemporary" music that I find horribly cacophonous; yet, there are many pieces I find delightful, jarring, enchanting, or some combination of emotionally complex feelings juxtaposed in time and space. It's usually: You like it, or you don't.

The avant garde reminded me of a story from the early days of the Third Programme (Radio 3, BBC). It used to be only on a couple of hours a night and was a bit free for all. Now, I might be misremembering the story a bit, but they were often at war with the Times newspaper (I think.) One time, they were so fed up at the Times saying they weren't playing enough modern classical music, they introduced an obscure composer with his latest composition. The Times raved over it. Which was interesting, because the composer did not exist. The engineers simply scattered mics around the studio, and for 30 minutes ran around hitting radiators, buckets, the piano - anything and everything in a completely random fashion. A perfect joke!
