I remember hearing in interviews that they didn't become a band to seek fame. However, they might have become bigger organically (whether they could control it or not) if they didn't have crap contracts when they were younger. They were touring and becoming known but we're getting more and more in debt, ironically, that it put pressure on Andy and Paul which is what drove the "divorce". So glad they make amends and are getting their flowers now! So well-deserved and underrated!

That Goldfrapp knock-off stops it being a complete masterpiece-should have been left off for 'Tomorrow Is Today' which is only existing in air online. 'Don't Go' was already a single and didn't need to be on here either, though it is a nice song. And also, no Paul sung song on here, not good. Aside from that, it goes back to "English Electric" for all round quality, as long as those 3 B-sides are added to the running time of it.

@@Vile_Entity_3545 Depeche Mode can F off, they are nothing, they completely compromised their sound and went all U2 and grunge crap out of desperation to live once the 80s ended. The US never gave an F before, that's the xenophobes for you, but the DM they love now is not the D Mode of the 80s, everyone just pretends, but even in the 80s, they were never great anyway and they fail as albums people, and many acts leave them way behind. They aren't fit enough to wipe OMD's shoes.

After hearing the first single, I ordered the vinyl. I will say the vinyl mastering sounds so much better to my ears than this. However digital version or not this album is absolutely amazing in every way. Pretty much only Depeche Mode and Duran Duran are putting out, but this blows them all away honestly.

This sounds like the OMD I know and remember. This song is very timely and relevant. It reminds me of Depeche Mode's - "Where's the Revolution". You know things are really messed up, when the pop stars start singing about the blatant corruption. I hope many more hear this song. Thank you.

OMD will always remind me of my glorious days living in Las Vegas and being on hand to open the Beautiful Bellagio! I heard this amazing musical group the first time as I made my rounds "back of the house". I will never forget that moment, and was happy that a couple of the managers were blown away so much they kept the music going as they made they departments great!! Everything about this album is top notch. The songwriting, the vocals, the music, the lyrics, the videos, the art work. They have done an amazing job progressing while still playing to their core strengths. Not an easy balance. There is talk that this might be their last album. I hope not but either way this album is a classic.

No, that Goldfrapp knock-off song stops it being a classic, as does the absence of 'Tomorrow Is Today' which isn't on anything. 'Don't Go' is a cheeky inclusion as it was out 4 years before, though is a nice song. Plus there's no Paul vocal at all. ALL these things stop it being the all-round classic that "Junk Culture", "Crush" and their "80s Unalbumed" collection is. A pity, but it's still a runner-up best, right up there with their 1981 album (with 'Brand New Science' added to it) and "English Electric". That's an amazing feat for an 80s act still, few can still do that. Kim Wilde, Duran Duran, A-ha, Alphaville and Roxette all managed to come back with top albums in the 2010s to now, so they're in great company, but D Mode and Pet Shop Boys and Simple Minds are 3 highly overrated acts NOT in this company, all long past their dull sell-by-date that no one admits!

Wow! Fantastic song!! Has elements of Enola Gay with such a fresh and mnodern sound/vibe. I mean you hear it an you instantly know that its a song by OMD. Fellow Aussie fans can atest OMD rarely ventures down under for their "world tours" Melbournians were thwarted our chance to see them as support though to Simple Minds due it being cancelled during those dreaded Covid years. That would have been my first time to see them however I was prepared to see them in London as I had planned an overseas vacation there too. So it was glorious to see them for my first time at 02 Arena London on Sunday 24th March 2024. The set list was a nice mix of old and new surely to satisfy old and new fans alike. Double thumbs up from me!!🎉❤
