Rescued a phal about a month ago, its leaves were the length of my forearm but it only had two. One of these got a bacterial infection and had to go, and after weeks of trying new stuff to get it to respond and plump up I gave up, threw it in a hanger with minimal bark, and stuck it up on a tree. Came with the flood, here to stay. I've been growing cacti for 10 years and have a bunch of aroids (so basic), putting my collection above 100 plants. Happy to have found someone who can teach me about Nepenthes and Orchids. I have one pitcher plant, and after being scared all winter in it's first year (etiolation is a constant fear to any cacti owner) this spring I'm gleefully watching how the little pitchers are starting to swell. I think I#s like to get more from that genus, yours are gorgeous. Don't let the algorithm freak you out. Those who are into your content will stay. Plant people are patient!

I like to try to grow something new every year just to change things up and add some challenge and this makes me want to try growing some carnivorous plants! I've already tried to grow some by seed in this terrarium pack someone gave me for Christmas but nothing ever sprouted either because of the just strait up moss instead of more of a soily moss mix or I just didn't water it as often ( I mostly watered it with collected rain water but there were a few times where I had to use tap.)

Texas weather sucks. We froze for like 4 days and then it became autumn. Right now it's spring and other days it goes back to summer. Sometimes we get all 4 seasons in 1 week. I mean i recall snow 1 day and the next super hot weather! I'd have to build a terrarium just for a Venus fly trap to be able to acomodate it right.
