Just here to say that I followed Dani's setup for tolumnia as seen in this video and it has resulted in the best tolumnia growth I have ever had.

Yes can we please cancel winter time. I'm in the nordics. Imagine how I feel if I wake up late and have already wasted most of the daylight.

Your little NoID dendrobium looks a lot like my Den. Cherry Song. It is little but a vigorous grower and bloomer. Mine was a rescue in bad shape a year ago, but it has doubled in size and is ready to bloom for a second time. I agree with you that the miniature sized phal dens are the most rewarding.

Hmm winter can be stressful for plant lovers but in My country India winter is the most floral season in most part of the country

Interesting that Cyprus of all places uses daylight saving time. It's meant for temperate/cool climates where agriculture depends on making the most of daylight during the warm season. Even parts of the US that are relatively warm don't use it.
@MissOrchidGirlАй бұрын
Hi, Cyprus has agricultural activities all year round not just in summer and the day/night differential is very pronounced seasonally, even at this latitude. So it makes sense, I just dislike adjusting to it :))))
@metaphysicalpizzaАй бұрын
@@MissOrchidGirl Ahh, I neglected to think about Cyprus' latitude affecting the length of daylight hours regardless of the warm climate. I often forget that it's not as close to the equator as it may seem, so winter days are still short. Thanks for reminding me! Background: I was born and raised in New England in the US, and still live here now, but lived for a time in Arizona which does not observe daylight saving time. I think the latitude is similar to Cyprus? Despite the variation in daylight hours, the warm climate made it "unnecessary" there. Regardless, your orchids are absolutely gorgeous, and I have learned a great deal following your channel over time. Thank you!

Beautiful. I will probably have to continue enjoying orchids via your videos. But that's fine with me ... all the enjoyment, none of the upkeep.

Hi Danny, thank you for your guide so far about catasetum type of orchid guides. I just received my Cycnodes wine delight 😍 variegated one too! But it gives me confusion now... haha it is flowering! As in putting spike with a few flower buds are developing, while it has only one leaf left on the very top (it has shedded most of its leaves). I wonder if I should water and fertilize it? But from what I read online in November we should stop fertilizer & reduce watering... (today is 4th Nov). I know you may not reply so quick, I will try my best to just water it enough. Anyway thank you in advance!

Hi Dani! Lovely blooms! We have so many orchids in common! I have many seedlings of Enobi Splash! I can send a few if you think they’ll make it from Miami Florida. Let me know. I’d be happy to.

Daylight Savings OM😢. I loathe it! Thank you for sharing the Jairaks etc. The easy Cattleya bloomers. I’m a bit crazy but I bought a Blc Ruby Copper Queen “Ruby Lip” a Richard Mueller x Toshie Aoki. Its pot is an okay size pot, should bloom soon! But it’s (very hard packed) stuffed full of spagna moss that is also green on sides and top. 🙄 I very gently with Twizzers removed some top spagna the roots look good, I put some new spagna on the top. No new roots under the new bulb. The Question: How on earth 😂 do I figure out when to water it?

Hi Danny! Everybody looks beautiful!! We are about to enter Daylight Savings Time here in Southern California, and head into the chilly, wet season. Question; Do you still have your African Violets? If so, could you make an update video on them? I also grow AVs now, as a friend recently got me into them. Keep up the great work, and I'm SO happy that you and your husband got a house. I am planning to purchase a home within the next year, and am now on an orchid buying freeze LOL.

Dani, your recommendations for going tolumnias helped me succeed with the Jairak ones I own. I have several blooming right now. I am also growing species tolumnias from the Caribbean. They are very tiny but seem to be doing well at one West facing window. I have to mist them once per day lightly as they are on boards. I hope this also bloom someday. My next challenge is a Dendrophylax linden x salleii. Wish me luck! Have you ever grown these?

I moved my orchid from a window to under a grow light and it turned yellow within 2 days. Does anybody know why? And what can I do to save it?
