So interesting! The science fan in me is mesmerized, and impressed. And the doggy cameos make it super special. :).

I think sometimes people think orchids aren't that hard to grow from seed. On Etsy and eBay, there are always people trying to sell "rare" orchid seeds. Anyway, this was an amazing video. I hope you have a great day. Keep up the great work!
@Orchidomania4 жыл бұрын
You can also grow them from seeds that are not sterile but you have to make the seeds sterile first and since they are so small, it complicates the process even more. That's why it's easier to do it before the seed pod cracks.

all very interesting, If I were younger I think I would be interested in trying this, but I don't have the time or patience for that now, excellent video and Giovanni is always fun to see!

Thanks Denise :) It's mostly the equipment that allows one to do this that becomes the limiting factor.

Thank you so much! Wonder if same method could be used for vanilias?
@Orchidomania3 жыл бұрын
Of course you can...vanilla is also an orchid. But the seeds from the store that are used for cooking are fermented etc so you can't use those.

Thank you! I bought seeds from online (not knowing how difficult it will be germinating it) but Im up for the challenge!

Can Phalaenopsis orchid seeds be green with this protocol?
@Orchidomania11 күн бұрын
@MesmHasmi ...if you mean the seed pods, to a certain degree they have to be green otherwise they are no longer sterile. Not too soon but not too late either and this time depends on the orchid type.
